Just wanted to inform everyone that I am moving about 1400 miles west tonight, going to reunite with the woman I love :) - My computer is being UPS'd out, so I don't know exactly when it will arrive - given the holidays. I don't really have a 'backup' person to update, so things around going to go radio silent until I'm there and setup. I know, I picked the worst time what with this "mayan" business, but that also happens to be her birthday. Get to celebrate the end of the world and eat cake... gonna be great. Best wishes for the next few days, and if my PC isn't there before Christmas, happy holidays as well! Take care out there!

Wanna be famous?
Haha, o.k well not famous - perhaps that's the wrong terminology - but I will offer the opportunity to be read by thousands of people, and have your blog / name or authorship be front and center of attention right here on this very site. Submit your unique content, get listed, get many links back. Sounds like a fair enough deal right? How does this help me? Content sharing. Well-written, unique content. If you are publishing on wordpress, tripod, some free site or something - and you think you have great material, but only pull in a few hundred people a month - why not submit an article to a much larger site (hey, kinda like Armageddon Online), and get a "trickle" back of traffic? No reason not to.... It helps me by providing more content from a more wider specturm, and in the long run - your site will start to see people coming in as well. Win/Win for both sides. Benefits Other than getting traffic back from Armageddon Online via links, content submission that is accepted will automatically get your link, website, or blog put in our links & resources section - permanently. My experience with RenuTeck Solar has exceeded my expectations. We saw the savings immediately and it has been hassle-free.
Initially on the set up we had to call the installer back to fix something and he came within a couple of hours to solve the problem. Nice people.
The added bonuses are that our neighbors and friends are asking us about it and our realtor says it has increased our home value.

That time of the month again... =(
If you are a long time reader, you probably know that my TIME is completely donated with no strings attached. I have fought to keep the information on AO free to all and somewhat (albeit somewhat behind) updated daily and fresh. To date, the site "expenses" have been paid either out of my pockets or by sales/advertising generated by the site. However, the last few months have seen me go through some hard times. No 'sad panda' details, but the lack of steady work ; coupled with increased living expenses is putting some stress on me. IE: I need some help. Dear AO Friends : As most of you know, I have been involved with Armageddon Online for more than a decade. With the current state of the economy, it's become even more important to raise money to keep the site - as well as the administration/updates going. I won't throw out any sappy details, but things are still WELL behind pace, as I am once again laid off from stable work. I'm not asking for sympathy, or charity - that simply isn't the case at all. Instead, I am asking this : Long time "lurker"? Weekly visitor? Daily enthusiast? If you could find it in your heart (aka wallet) to throw a little something in the tip jar, it would be most appreciated. This weekend the message boards are getting an overaul, going from vBulletin 3.8 to vBulletin 4.1. Not going to lie, I'm very excited about this! The most spectacular meteor shower in 10,000 years results in a direct hit to the moon, leaving it on a collision course with the Earth. A small group of international astronauts, scientists and soldiers band together in a race against time to save humanity, in the thrilling limited ABC series Impact, airing SUNDAY, JUNE 21 and SUNDAY, JUNE 28 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET both nights), on the ABC Television Network.
The world watches as a large meteor shower streaks across the skies. Hidden in the meteor field is a brown dwarf , a dead star. It smashes into the moon in a tremendous explosion of rock and debris. Fragments of the moon itself penetrate Earth's atmosphere and make impact. Even though initial damage is minimal, nerves are frayed throughout the planet. Experts quickly conclude there will be no lasting ramifications. Then strange anomalies begin to manifest themselves on Earth. It starts small -- cell phone disruptions, unusual static charges and odd tidal behavior. The world's leading scientists, including Alex Kittner (David James Elliott), Maddie Rhodes (Natasha Henstridge) and Roland Emerson (Benjamin Sandler), begin piecing together evidence that suggests that the moon and its orbit may have been permanently altered. Their fears are realized when the anomalies increase to the point where the effect of gravity is being manipulated by increased electromagnetic surges coming from the moon. People, cars and other objects are rendered momentarily weightless in random, isolated areas around the globe. Alex, Maddie, Roland and the rest of their team soon discover something far worse -- the moon's new orbit has put it on a collision course with Earth! |

Howdy Folks, your friendly neighborhood webmaster here. The site is going better than ever - just thought I would take the time to point out some new / updated features! As always you can support this site by clicking here. Do you run a website or blog? Armageddon Online would LOVE to link swap! We have an easy to use section for our links and buttons - and of course if you throw a link to us, you can apply for one back right here. The Message boards have been upgraded, allowing for more community based interaction and events. And as always, the live chatroom continues to be active - with all sorts of 'offbeat' humor. You do, however, need to be a registered member of the forums to use the chat. Also, on the topic of the boards, the Armageddon Online Arcade is back in action. Having a boring day at work? As you have undoubtedly noticed, Armageddon Online is up and running. Apologies to all for the recent downtime, I've been unusually busy lately and sitting down to hammer all of it out isn't always enjoyable. We have migrated to a new server and hosting package, the bandwidth is unlimited the downtime is non-existent and life is good. If you would come across any issues, technical or otherwise, please get a hold of me here . If you are a registered member of the forums you can do some Q&A in this thread. |

Our hosting company, after about 5-6 years, is going out of business and I am taking the opportunity to upgrade and move Armageddon Online to a new web host. There will likely be downtime in somewhat large quantities over the next week or two. There is a lot of information to back up, and a lot of web material to transfer.
The forums of course will be the hardest part. With thousands of threads I am going to do my best to ensure that member accounts, posts and threads will not be lost. However effective as of today forwards, posts on the boards MAY NOT BE KEPT once the transfer has gone through. So if you see downtime and posts missing this is the warning point. I am pleased to announce that the RSS and ATOM feeds for Armageddon Online should all now be fully functional. Over the last several weeks I have had numerous requests to fix the minor bugs that persisted in our feeds. I know some of it was due to bad category names which was being misinterpreted by the code - and others had spotted overly shortened descriptions. All of the old faulty categories and names should be taken care, and working as intended. If you wish to setup an RSS/ATOM feed to arregate news posted on Armageddon Online, the links are below.
