Do you/have you ever cried? Not counting obvious crying like pain.

We all know (of course some people here are women) that men aren't suppose to cry or else you aren't manly! Of course thats crap because who really cares if you do besides another guy? In some extreme examples you aren't suppose to cry even if someone died (family) or if your really happy!

I obviously have cried at the above situations.

1. Now the question is have you cried outside of those situations?
2. In front of people?

Yes and yes! I guess I must be "less manly", oddly though women seem to love it! Of course I do it just because... well I do! A good movie gets me teared up, but no tears. On RARE occasions on REALLLYYYY good movies Ill actually shed a single tear or two. But never waterworks, at least not that I recall. I know I did once or twice when I was a kid like when I thought someone died in a movie and I didn't know any better.

The one movie that gets me though every time is The Last Samurai. When they are in that battlefield at the end getting mowed down by the guns and then cruise helps Katsumoto take his life. Damn, I always shed a tear.

Really? I thought your tear ducts have long since been relegated to appendix-level functioning. :D

I have only cried once in the last 14 years. On the night before my wedding, my wife and I got into a huge fight where keys were thrown in the parking lot and frustration was at a record high, I cried exactly 2 tears, I remember, we made a big deal about it. Later on that night (before I went to a friend's house to stay the night) we ended up realizing that we were just both hyper-frustrated and we needed to deal with the high level of emotions somehow. We have been happy ever since.

It seems I only do that while in a black out from what I hear.:bncry:

I honestly cannot recall a moment of crying while watching a movie...I've cried various times during personal events in my life. And just to give my silenced opinion, "It takes a true man to admit to what or whom his tears fall for...".

For example, I've cried with the memories of whom I hold closest to myself that continue to reveal themselves without abandon...:bncry:

I hate the way I sound when admitting to this, and I can guess that someone will deem me a pansy...:samurai:

Really? I thought your tear ducts have long since been relegated to appendix-level functioning.but they saved him!

And naw, I get all teary eyed when riding with no glasses or goggles too. The cold stinging wind in my eyes really chokes me up.

Gees whata topic.... been awhile for me as well, for realistic things it was the birth of my first child, she wrapped her little hand around my finger and held it...I was done for...

as for any movies, the last scene in "Privet Ryan" when he was old, and asked his wife if he was a good man...

I don't cry about things in the normal womanly fashion. Sure I cry at funerals, but as far as emotional BS..nah. I may shed a tear whilst cracking my knuckles on the sharp corner of that damn exhaust flange, but thats all in sacrifice to the car gods who must have blood before the car will run.

Private Ryan did me in too. Just as most stuff involving people or animals rescuing animals and other people.

Its kinda odd. i don't cry about real life, There were times i wanted too, but it simply doesn't come out.

I'm a firm believer that heart felt emotion ( sentimentality ) leads to compassion, that leads to forgiveness, that leads to reconciliation. that leads to peace...... but its seldom exercised in a world bent on image.

Yes and yes! I guess I must be "less manly", oddly though women seem to love it! Well, I wouldn't say I would love it if my guy cried at every little thing, but it's nice when a guy is secure enough with himself to show some emotion and trusts you enough to cry in front of you when he is really upset.

Not that I haven't cried myself ..... but only when trying to fool a girl in to bed ! That's not even funny. At all.

1. Now the question is have you cried outside of those situations?
2. In front of people? For #1, yes, but it's a rare occurrence. The last time I cried outside the death of someone close was when I got into a huge fight with a very close friend about a year ago. For #2, the answer is almost always no. I hate crying in front of other people. The last time I did was when I broke my ankle two years ago, but it was more tearing up than crying anyway, plus it was caused by pain, so it doesn't really count.

I would say something like that but I really would be crying. So I get the girl anyways. Anyways women always seem to know fake tears, or so I have been told.

Actually I cry 5-6 times a year not counting funerals and such. It is usually caused when a child or dog is hurt in some TV show or movie or by some kind of emotional fight with my wife or family. I find it somewhat strange that I have such a strong reaction but I usually don’t try to fight it I just let it happen. I can watch war movies and other cinema violence where adults get killed by the dozen and not shed a tear, but turn on some real life emergency show with some little kid in a neck brace being operated on by doctors and I start tearing up. I don’t consider it a weakness as it has never prevented me from acting and I can fight it off if it occurs at an inappropriate time. For those of you who said you never cry (except at funerals ect..) do you feel like you could but can always fight it off, or do you not even feel the strong emotions that can start it?

Last time I cried was when I found out that my last friend left had died from cancer. I felt bad that I hadn't called more often..it had been weeks...or even tried to go see him or anything...

And then I cried when I found out that the VA was fucking with me again and I went all mental and got admitted to the nuthut after admitting to being suicidal/homicidal. That was the first time I ever wanted to kill someone besides myself.

But now that I got out and realized that I really didn't like the way I was living I signed myself up for an inpatient ptsd facility and I go in a little over a week and a half in Baltimore and will be gone for about six to eight weeks or so.

Gotta love the anonymity of teh internet
