I've just got to get it off my chest before I shoot him in the face:

My boss is the biggest prick in the world. He makes us all record time sheets detailing all the work we do so that the clients can be charged accordingly. He then moans when I put time down to one of his clients for something I was asked to do. I think that 15 minutes for a well made, clear map of a previous study area is bloody good going. He was even complimenting it until he asked if I had put time down to this client. One rule for him, one for everyone else. What a twat.

Well he can just f**k off in the future - if I am asked to do something for one of his clients I'm going to make sure it's OK with him first. He'll get soo sick of me asking and the delay to his work.

:spree:

Thats probably the right way to do it. He'll see what an ass he was being when your bugging him every ten minutes.

You're right - before about a month ago I would have argued back at him but my gf has taught me just to go with the flow and stick to the rules since these kinds of twats usually show themselves up without me having to do it for them. It's worked a treat - you just sit back and let other people do stupid things and you look perfect compared to them!

Hey MapMan, check out my "ever had a bad day" post. I know exactly what you mean! My bad day was waisting time listening to B'ichin that made no sense, plus they were irrational. Nothing made them happy.

I don't have the same problem as you since my boss is great, and since I am the so called "second in command", I am probably the boss you are talking about. I get to do all the dirty work like fire people.

I like your gf's idea of letting them hang themselfs. However, I seem to favor the ones that smile at me when they do it. I don't mean a stupid smile or a butthead smile, but a smile, like "I'm on to you man!" I want to see teeth and eye contact.

But of course since I am on the other side of the fence... your boss might be over worked and stressed out and taking it out on you and who knows who else.

Just make sure you communicate with him, if he thinks it is necessary to bill time, and you check with him until he sees you are right, then don't rub it in his face if he is wrong. ( I am saying this thinking you want to stay and advance with this company, if not, Please disregard paragraphs 3 and 4)
