hell yeah i was owned. i thought that having venom in it would be worth all the sappy love story bullshit, but it wasn't. they totally screwed venom, his part in the movie was pretty lackluster. the spiderman franchise is done for. i should have seen 28 weeks later.

Agreed.... That movie was stupid. Almost no cool action sequences in a two and a half hour movie. Having 2 and a half bad guys all with their own story somehow translated into each one getting about 15 minutes in the movie with nearly zero relation to anything.

The Mcdonalds commercials for the spiderman sweepstakes where he chooses red or black spidey are better than that whole movie!

edit: The problem was that the movie never built up to anything. There was no moment that could be called the climax. It was more like.... just a bunch of stuff that happened.

Wow I thought it was the best of the three but I didnt like the first 2 very much. I also though this was one of the better live action super hero movies yet made. It was long and sappy but the fights were very cool and the characters like sandman and eddy brock/ venom were pretty cool. I really liked the mean/ aggressive Peter Parker. One of the problems I have had with all of the superhero movies is that they depart from the comic version of the story and change the powers of the heros like sandman flying about in a cloud but I am becoming used to it now.

Going to see this one next weekend and my expectations are now much lower after reading these posts. I'm a big Spidey fan so I'll go and see anything with him in it. The first and second movies were good, but not spectacular. I think that all of the Spidey movies have been overhyped along with the Pirates movies. Despite the success of the Spidey movies, I still think that Sam Raimi was a strange choice for director. They've been good, but they could've been better...

The movie was pirty bad....I love Spidey 2 and 1...I loved them to death. DBA your were dead-on man. No climax, no Dr. Oc vs Spidey on the Barge moment, or Spidey vs Green Goblin in the backalley. The climactic fight scene at the end however was ruined due to that stupid bitch reporter and those annoying little kindergarten brats shouting "COOL!" and "WICKED!" while the action was going on. This movie cost 300 million dollars to make..no one fucking noticed that stupidity?

Well, I got dragged to go see it yesterday. I have to agree with almost everyone here. It sucked. The villians themselves were pretty cool, especially Venom. But the plot was stupid and totally unrealistic.
