Just a start of the pics from Yellowstone.

One thing I need to mention off the bat... when we were leaving we passed about 4 trucks that said "Vulcan EMT Team #7". Then a couple of days later Japan had an earthquake. Just food for thought. We had a wonderful time.

Yes, we saw ole faithful.

Very cool vacation. I think we are planning to go again in September because you really can't see everything in a week. Yes, we went though Sturgis. Not much going on now. This is really a vacation every American should take at least once. There is so much history there and it truely reflects what a bunch of dumbasses we all are.

Minerals in the water turn the stone yellow, thus Yellowstone's name. The sulfur there was terrible day one. (rotten egg smell) Day two, not so bad. The bubbling of the the mud and even ole faithful was way down from what we heard.

Most of the water there is filtered though natural springs and is drinkable off the lake. We ran into volcanic rock at the lake that was black sand. Really cool since we have white sands from New Mexico. Yeah, we stole some.

The nature alone was beautiful. There was a fire in 98, so there was a lot of new growth. We also went though the grand Tetons. I was cold, we were at 10,000 feet and the temp was like 56o F. No humidity so it was really cold for me.

I was on the rim of the lake here. Strange look on my face huh?

This is a huge area, 22 million acres so I guess I was a little confused, that and it was about 53 degrees with no humidity and I am used to 90% humidity. I was freezing... The boat behind me is a tour boat on the lake. Personal boats are only allowed in one area. We are about 3 miles past what they call hot springs, stuff bubbles to the top of the water and ducks sit on it to keep warm.

I am back SR, I didn't have time to check my webpages while I was gone. Already missing the beautiful sites.

Yes, faithful.

The ranger standing behind us said he has seen it go higher. We were about 50 feet from it and this isn't the greatest shot since I was really watching more than snapping pictures.

But thanks for asking.
