This is an interesting article that I came across.
I have heard about this many years back so the story has been on going for quite a while.

I've heard of this one before! It seems quite likely that considering the infinate number of planets in the universe, a space travelling community might have visited us at some point in our history and even crashed.
There are a lot of reports of archaeological cover ups (look up ancient giants). The evidence is always there but some people want to cover it up because it doesn't fit with our accepted version of history.
Hmmm. Although I find it strange that these disks would survive, but no space ship? obviously it had to be made of even harder material than the composite stone. And I doubt the technology existed to cut it up and sell it to the nearest scrapyard.
( as SR tries to get a mental picture of Genghis Khan with a blow torch)

These things survived because they were buried in a sheltered cave. It is quite possible that the space ship remains are still out there covered in a few meters of silt.
At least that which was not cannibalized by the first survivor's to try and make their new home more comfortable.

Absolutely. China is huge. If my space ship crashed I'd take what I could from it and leave the shell where it was. If you are going to crash land you head for water right?

Well you need water, shelter and food.
In their case they also needed to avoid the larger more aggressive local inhabitants
The disks were probably records of a type that they felt that they needed to preserve.
