I found this article to be very interesting - especially given my beliefs in the Alien Intervention theory. According to the ancient Sumerian tablets - we were created in South Africa 270 thousand years ago. This article deals with split in homo sapiens and again puts our possible origins in South Africa.

"Modern humans are often presumed to have originated in East Africa and then spread out to populate other areas. But the data could equally support an origin in southern Africa followed by a migration to East and West Africa. "

This is quite natural in organisms. Granted, the span of time mentioned in the article is short, but it sometimes only takes a few thousand years for a species to fill a niche. Proponents of evolution are aware there is a split, which may be an answer to why human DNA and genome is not diverse. Depending on the time you're talking about, humans could have split due to catastrophe. Early humans might have been nearly wiped clean save a select communities. Technically speaking, humans are not genetically diverse compared to other life on the planet. We're all the same. Researchers believe this the case because the species was nearly wiped out sometime in the past, forcing what few left to sexually mingle.
