The other day someone asked me for the male equivalent of "mistress."

Naturally, I shot back "master," but that was not the answer. My questioner wanted a word that was the male equivalent of:

woman having sexual relations on a regular basis and being supported by man not her husband

Sugar daddy?

No worries.... Danko has the Answers.

Mama, if you want a little bit of some
chocolate with your sugar
I can deliver it right to your door

Mama, I know what you call me when
my back is turned around
You call me sugardaddy, sugardaddy, sugardaddy #1

But I like it.

officially, a "hustler" who is a male prostitute but not really a mistress.

"Boy toy" or "Pet boy" are used if they're just "kept"

"Rent Boy" is a semi-European phrase sometimes used too.

If they live in but not in the same room "Houseboy"

But Prometheus mentioned being supported, too. I still think it's sugar daddy. :P

Sugardaddy is the one (generally older) who provides the support not takes
it.

Yes, but "being supported by woman not his wife" definitely isn't some kind of prostitute.

Then's it's a "Sugar Mama"

But no, just being supported doesn't make them a prostitute. But, a Sugar
Mama still has her "boy toy".

Sorry, I only mentioned hustler in my original response because the main
article attached mention "gigolo" which is certainly paid for sex.

The others "rent boy", "houseboy" are my response to the support and being
kept aspect of it.

LOL...so you're agreeing with me that the male equivalent of a female mistress is indeed a sugar daddy.

Boy toy fits, too. :)

Boy toy would work, but a sugar daddy would be the one supporting the woman not the one being supported. I think a guy who is in a relationship with a married woman and is being supported by her can be known as only one thing though: Scumbag.

Gash...lol...I love these subjects recently

Sugardaddy (guy with money) >>> keeps a >>> boytoy, pet boy, rent boy, houseboy

Sugarmama (girl with money) >>> keeps a >>> boytoy, pet boy, rent boy, houseboy

Why would a married guy need someone to support him?
My hubby might like this as long as sex wasn't involved, I'm expensive...lol

BTW...if you're paying for someone...being their "Sugardaddy" and EVER say
it out loud. :( It REALLY pisses them off...

From Wikipedia:
"A kept man is a man who is financially supported by a wealthy, usually older, person who is neither the man's spouse or close relative. Men may be kept by either a woman or by another man. Being "kept" could be seen as a form of prostitution, especially if the relationship has a sexual dimension."

Correct, Kept is the right answer.

I heard my grandmother talk about someone who had a "kept" man around her house.

Now notto be confused with "house boy" or "hired hand" but if you watch some early 30's movies the term "kept" comes in to the story every now and then.

You can tell the difference between house boy and kept. If you get my drift.

LOL...only between generations. Houseboy or Houseboi in currant parlance is
a "kept" man
