Armageddon. The end of all we know. And mybe us. I like to think we have all been here before. Was that a song? The last mini ice age almost killed off mankind. How many times could this have happened. How much knowledge has been lost?

Not that this post well help after the power is gone and you looking for food. But until then maybe some post here might help in every day life.

When the cost of gas was around $2 a gal I looked into making alcohol as a fuel.
Cost to much. If your thinking about it for use other than a fuel.

When I say other Iam talking about "other" uses. Lamp oil and things like that.
Currently I have to rebuild my bathroom. My house is about70 years old. After riping out the walls and floor I found a lot of rot and termit damage.

I really hope this works for the next 30 years. Like I have more time than that.

You want to make hydrogen gas? It is simple. I use to do it as a kid and never knew what I was doing. I didn't say it was cheap or safe to do. I use to use a 32 oz coke bottle. Some drano and aluminum foil. Add some water and put a ballon on top of the bottle. Take the ballon off and watch it float away. Showed it to my sister once. Bottle got to hot and exploded. She got a pice of glass in her leg. I got my A** wooped from my father.

As stange as it might sound the hi cost of fuel might be good. Who knows what might be invented because of it.

Feel free to post.......

I've done a lot of reading in here. Different threads, different forums. There is a lot of reading to do in here. Ouch....
I live in Florida. Here you have to be ready for storms. But how can you prepare for a 500 hundred year event? Thats what they are calling the floods happening now in the U.S.
You stock up on can goods, bottle water and lots of ammo. Then it all gets washed away.
You stock up on can goods, bottle water and lots of ammo. Then it all gets covered in ash from a volcano.
So what do you do? I know a lot of people that will tell you to have faith. Faith in what! A God that made us just to destroy us? I know we should follow the rules and we will be saved. Right......
The ten comandments. In ten words.... Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't .
I would like to belive "if" a God made us he gave us the right to think. Free will?
Not sure how all that works so forget the God thing.
SURVIVAL......It's as old as time. You have to be ready all the time. So if Florida sinks into the ocean ( I live in Florida ) MOVE! What are you crazy? I like warm weather...I hate cold. Seems not all of us are ready to do what we have to.
Okay my oven just went beep. Time to eat.
Survival...no jobs where you at? Move...No food ? Move...
Man has been on the move for a very long time and I think that is why he will be around for a long time.
Just A Thought............

Sometimes it isn't just what you stock up on, but also a state of mind, a way of being, to where you know life is fixin to suckerpunch you, but if you duck or steel yourself, you can get through it. That is why it's not just preps at home you should have, but a small amount of emergency items in your car, and then of course it is suggested that families have what is known as a 'bug-out bag, with a bug-out plan'. This plan would mean that members of your family and friends will know where to meet up with all together in one place if the world finally goes fucking insane and loses its mind. The bug out bag should have food, water, cash, a weapon, and copies of important documents, and have all these things assembled all together so when shit hits the fan, you don't have to wander all over the house to find it, but it will be gathered together and right by the door.

Also, a few people even have 'caches' stored at other places not in their homes too. It's all upon what you can and what you want to do, and what you are able to do.
