I log onto my online banking today and find this $6.00 charge for some bullshit acting magazine that I have never heard of nor have a ever recived anything from. I am thinking it is someone out there with my sccount info that is testing to see if there is money in the account.

How does this shit happen? Is buying online on ever secure sites a risk? Is there anything such as a secure site in the first place. This company I have tried to contact via email and all of the emails just get sent back saying that the email does not exsist.

I do not think credit cards/ debeit cards and internet mix well.

Depends.

Have you noticed anything odd while at the ATM.
Like something attached to the slit. Or someone standing really close for no good reason.
Or do you give your creditcard to the shopkeeper to scan, instead of scanning it yourself?

Do you check wheter or not you really are at the correct site while managing your bank account or shopping online? Like checking wheter or not you are on a secured line. Or wheter or not the site name is the same as you intended to type? It really sounds like you have just been phished.

Is your computer clean of spyware, keyloggers and dialers?

If not, there is a real chance that you were scammed.

There are so many factors here that could be the cause for the information breach. what lycanox says is on the ball. I'm a banker at a CDFI and see this happen allllll the freaking time.

where I you i would close my account and open up a new one. it can be a pain if you have a lot of automatic things that are coming out, or going in. but really its the safest way to be sure. cut all ties with that account and card account.

If its a VISA or some credit card, someone could have the number. If that happens, I'd suggest ordering a new card with a new #.

When I used to use bank I had a separate account solely for online banking.

As careful as we were we got took.

If I absolutely have to make online purchase I would buy prepaid visa for the amount of purchase and no worries.

Sounds to me like you may, unknowingly, subscribed for a magazine which past its 30 day risk free trial or something in that line.

If you sure I mean positive someone has your card or whatever, cancel that ASAP.

or you could end up with alot more than a magazine subscription coming your way.
