Looks like a clear case of medical incompetence to me. How can you declare it as a miracle without knowing all the facts. Hmmmm...... Ah yes, religion works this way. Deceive the masses then relieve them of there money.
Catholics are the best at this sort of thing. :(

Exactly how?
Maybe that's what happens where you live, but here people are not deceived into empyting their pockets.

BTW, I also don't believe in most of the so-called "faith healings", yet I'm still open to the possibility it can seldom happen.

Well, let's see. how many times have I read of some catholic finding an image of the virgin Mary on his property then raking in the dough as other Catholics flock to see the "miracle" and pay an admission to do so.

Doomer,
You just can't believe that once in awhile miracles can happen. God moves in mysterious ways. I'm sure the Doctors did everything in their power to treat the baby. Sometimes things just happen that are unexplainable. The baby was declaired dead by Doctors who do their jobs everyday. You would think they know how to do it.
To turn something like this around as another attack on faith, or Christians is RIDICULES! (Shouting Very Loud!!!!) :argue: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could find the link to the article that discusses the numbers of fatalities that occur yearly due to medical incompetence and malpractice. It was in the 6 figure range. My point is, the medical industry is far from perfect and to ASSUME that any diagnosis represents the absolute truth is just plain stupid. Therefore, to declare a miracle based on nothing more than what is probably a highly biased article stating the diagnoses of "doctors" is stupider still.
Anytime you mix faith with reality it's like mixing water with oil. You'll only end up looking silly to anyone who takes the time to think.

This is religion serving it's purpose. It's there for those to fill in the gaps of the unknown or unexplained. Just because something amazing happened or we don't know how it happened, doesn't mean that 'god' did it. Learn to accept there is still much we don't know and we shouldn't just write something unexplainable like that as a case of 'divine intervention'.

Lori, what was your expectiation about this news? That all non-believers would tear up their clothes, repenting their sins and shouting "hallelujah" for this great miracle? Think twice before posting this in the religion
forum and ask the mods to create a new forum: "Positive news items".
LC Jeffries

I want to ask you a question Dutchie, was the religious forum created just to attack faith? I would like to know. If this forum was created to attack, Christianity or any other faith, then they need to change the forum from Religion to Anti-Religion. Then I would not waste anytime posting anything positive or wonderful. What is religion. A talk of faith and love. It is a guide to society. Religion and Faith have led many great nations. It has taught values. It has taught spirituallity. And it has brought peace to many people throughout time. I've said this before, if anyone has any problem with what I may post then that their problem, not mine. They want to continue to be negative and ugly towards anyone who has any faith, then thats, once again their problem, not mine.
This was a beautiful story that had a tragic beginning, yet ended with 'Yes it was' A MIRACLE!!!!!!!
If anyone has a problem with parents who thought they had lost their baby boy, having him back, then I really think, that that person has problem. But it's his or their problem, not mine.
I can understand that many people are turned off by faith, by their experiences. My husband and I have been turned off by a couple of Churches because they have moved away from the truth. But that does not change our love for Christ and for what he has done in our lives, and in the lives of our children. We simply love Him and Trust in Him.

Yes and all Christian bible thumpers are totally blind to this simple but indisputable fact.
When the Catholic priest scandal saw the light of day, I was horrified to find that by and large, the majority of Catholics turned a blind eye to the situation and still do today. Very few spoke out and condemned this horrible atrocity and the Catholic Church itself was, and still is, more concerned about damage control than it is about the victims of this horror.
If these deaf, dumb and blind religion sheeple find themselves in heaven then I would prefer hell.

Will, I don't disagree with you, but you are judging Christians today for what has happened in the past. It's like judging and condeming the US for slavery, during the early years of our nation. I'm not saying slavery was a good thing, I have always believed it was wrong, but I don't condem people who died over 200 years ago, because they had slaves.
True faith, is not hatred or violence. True faith does not kill or destroy a people. Jesus's greatest commandemnt was to Love Your Neighbor as Yourself, of Second of which is to love your neighbor so much so that you would gove your life for the ones you love. My own people on my mother's side of the family where actually forced to accept a Church's beliefs. But again that happened over 100 years ago. I don't condem those people. Many tribal members through out the states and canada, don't hate what happened either. Actually they are having harder times with the Secular Government. Many today love and accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and our Father in Heaven namely The Great Spirit. Jesus is just another part of that Great Spirit.

I'm not blaming current christians for acts of past christians. I'm saying that religion has incited the very things it teaches against and history does have a occurrence of repeating itself. I'm not pointing the finger just at christianity, but at religion in general.
My own people on my mother's side of the family where actually forced to accept a Church's beliefs
Key word. Forced. It's all well and good if the religious want to tell others about their faith and how great they think it is, but the minute they force it upon another, especially in christianity's case is going against the teaching of the faith. I wouldn't hold those accountable either, but I would be far more critical of religion.

My husband and I have been turned off by a couple of Churches because they have moved away from the truth.
Who determines the truth? Ever really wondered why there are several denominations of Christianity? It's quite simple. Each founder/founders thought their interpretation was "truth" while the others were misguided. This just re-enforces my comments about zealous Christians being arrogant. Perhaps if we could get past the arrogance we might be able to halt some of the atrocities STILL being committed in the name of a deity.
you are judging Christians today for what has happened in the past.
News flash: They are still happening. Christians and Muslims alike are still committing violent acts in the name of God. This isn't like blaming today's Germans for the Holocaust, it's blaming an ideal for atrocities still being committed today. I certainly wouldn't blame you for what the Knights Templars did during the Crusades, but you can certainly point the finger at the leadership that continues to teach the same intolerance that cost the lives of millions in the past. We're supposed to learn from historical mistakes so that we don't make them again, not just fine tune the approach so that we make new ones.
You set yourself up for failure when you can't accept the fact that no one really knows the truth. Believing is not knowing, and knowing is half the battle.

mir·a·cle n. An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God
Specifically: An event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event, or one transcending the ordinary laws by which the universe is governed. Notice how there can be "miracles" that do not have to include a religious manifestation.
I think its GREAT that boy is alive no matter where the "miracle" came from. That nurse was on her toes that day.
Hmm, if her name would have been Devine, it would truly have been a "Devine intervention". :rolling:

While I do agree that this is definately a very heart-warming incident and I won't get into my beliefs about religion, I have to say his chances of completely recovering now are still around 60/40. You guys need not to forget part of the article where it says he was submerged for 30 minutes. This is more than enough time for significant brain damage if he's not totally a vegetable by now. Breathing doesn't mean alive ... and considering he's been put back on a respirator, I don't expect much of this. My personal experiences with comatose like situations leads me to believe this. I hate to be the pessimistic one, but the truth will set you free.

An Idaho boy's seemingly miraculous return from a death pronouncement is a rare -- but not unheard of -- event.
And cold water -- as in the boy's presumed drowning -- is a common saving grace.
