That place became downright toxic over time, and I finally got sick of it and walked away. This place, by comparison, is a walk in the park. If it's ever allowed to turn into the type of cesspool that the other was, I'll leave this place too.

If you want to discuss the original ban, you would have to go back to the people that made the ban permanent in the first place, which is something that occurred well before mine and Nu kua's time.

As a chat mod, I care doing my job as a chat mod outside of personal emotions. I believe that as chat mods we should not be abusing our power over personal squabbles with members.

But hey, maybe you disagree? :dunno:

I'm willing to bet that I am the only mod of any kind who believes that it is absolutely unacceptable to let personal problems with members get in the way of how and why I make modding moves. (naturally that is a shame, if it is true)




I have no clue. I wasn't around for his original banning because I was off all summer. What I had heard though, was that he deserved to be banned.. I can't comment though because I wasn't there.

Well I WAS there and he didn't. He was banned and constantly kicked because one chat mod had a PERSONAL PROBLEM with him, and because after that several mods and/or other staff got a kick out of constantly kicking him.

This is the same FOURTEEN YEAR OLD KID that this chat mod went on a personal crusade against due to some comments he made about this chat mod's son (trying to "help" him was his angle, I believe), and due to BDB pretending that he was some post-grad (NOT against the rules to be someone here that you are not in the real world).

Not only was it modding based upon emotions, it was malicious verbal attacks. I was there, and even DBA said it was going too far.

Of course, if we weren't talking about a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD KID, maybe DBA wouldn't have been EVEN MORE AGAINST IT THAN I WAS, (and boy, can you even fathom that ever happening?). Either way, it is not modding behavior, period.

You know whats funny about this all is how at least for the most part people enjoyed me getting crapped on by Perf when he started his stuff back then. Some even said it wans't a big deal and people said I should deal with it. As quoted by one memeber:

"Perf isn't an asshole. Hes just really funny!"

But now people don't find it so funny anymore when they get thrown into it. Kinda ironic eh? :) Makes you question things. Anyways my 2 cents.

Well, whoever the mods were at that time are not the same ones now.

But the situations aren't really analogous. This isn't a spat between two members, it's a spat between a chat mod and a member, and it isn't nearly as simple as Perfectionist making fun of you (he was [rightfully] infracted and his "Chronicles of Asswipe" thread deleted, if you recall).

Do we really need another thread that while at first had context (of sorts) before it quickly descends into yet another tug of war of insults. I can already see how this thread will go; it will become so heated that someone will snap and go over board with the insults, closing this thread leaving another few weeks before the next complaints thread.

That's a good point. He's been pushing the limits for quite some time.
I get a feeling that he's actively trying to get banned this time though.

EXactly. Regardless of whats going on. The fact hes chosen to outright slam everyone here is pretty much digging his own grave and yet hes still here. But JohnB1 got banned instantly for coming back. Confused am I. >.< Although the third time he came back he seems to be allowed here now. Still point still being made. Perf seems to be passing some magical unbannable barrier (besides in chat).

Seems indicative of a spoiled brat pushing boundaries. If he lets up now he would have have to eat crow. If he pushes till his own destruction he will be forever remembered as a martyr in some eyes. Seems like he may be a "better to go out fighting" kind of person even if he doesn't understand what he is fighting about. Seems like some of the deranged world leaders in power right now.

Trouble is the mods are utterly useless. That's why perf exists in his uber-troll state and why silly threads (IE: the perf thread in off-topic) remain undeleted. The moderators here are rapidly turning into a joke.

This is not my because of my personal view and I'm not doing it out of spite to the OP or any other members.

But there has been a wave of complaints coming from the result of this thread.

You cry fowl about Nazi mods but I'm acting in the interests of many users, thats not very Nazi if you ask me.
