I've received a mail from a friend telling me to download this amazing drumsolo (http://users.telenet.be/coyote/programs/AMAZING drum solo by Tony Royster Jr.avi) by Tony Roister Jr. (heavy file, approx 20Megs).

What this kid does with his drumkit........it's unbelievable! I strongly suggest you guys ALL watch this, and those of you that tink you have a great artist/drummer in your band, think again!

So I was thinking, why not start a thread where we post links to great solo's with any kind of instrument?

You guys know some great solo's?

I dont have any MP3s to link you to. But you should listen to Alive by Pearl Jam. A good 2 minute guitar solo at the end. Thats the solo that convinced me solos were cool.

Metallica's original bassist: Cliff Burton's bass solo and duet with the guitars on Orion (Master of Puppets). I owned this album for years (as a bass player) not realizing that the bass was soloing in this song (towards the end) amazing!

Cliff Burton changed the image and sound of the bassist.

Journey to the End of the East bay, I wouldn't call it the most amazing bass solo ever, but it's hella catchy and fun to play. Good job by Matt Freeman from Rancid.

And there is a fantastic 9-minute drumsolo, called Little B by The Shadows Brian Bennet.

For those who download mp3's from time to time, look it up..
