Fifteen of the 9/11 hijackers obtained their visas in Saudi Arabia. Michael Springman, the former head of the American visa bureau in Jeddah, has stated that since 1987 the CIA had been illicitly issuing visas to unqualified applicants from the Middle East and bringing them to the US for training in terrorism for the Afghan war in collaboration with Bin Laden (BBC, November 6 2001). It seems this operation continued after the Afghan war for other purposes. It is also reported that five of the hijackers received training at secure US military installations in the 1990s (Newsweek, September 15 2001).

I would expect everyone to know that 15 of 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from saudi arabia.

I personally know about the "cia training terrorists for bin Laden" for the afghan war against the soviet union, though i don't expect everyone to know it (esp. considering how "under the table it was" originally).

I wasn't aware of our continued support currently, nor was I aware of an "afghan war" past 1987 much less 2001. I see your source, but I'd love a link as well.

Based on the way you mention it, I'm not sure which "Afghan war" you are talking about, so please elaborate.

I'm also not sure what consitutes "secure US military installations" (in the 1990's) so if you could explain what that means or post a link, it would be much appreciated. I think the training at US flight schools and universities (etc) is pretty well known, but "secure US military installations" sounds like thosehijackers were trained by the US military to do exactly what they did- which may be true, but is not what I've learned.

But most of all, from my knowledge you are mentioning a couple of different events that don't have much to do with each other, so please explain your point, or further explain how those things are connected.

I think the quintessence of HH's post was: why is the US govt. leaving Saudi Arabia complely in peace, while it is clear that the root of all of their trouble is buried in that soil?!?

Yes, the evidence was not very accurately presented, but his point was clear.

There were no repeat no hijackers. Several of the persons "listed as hijackers" have made formal complain that their "names and identities" were used yet they had absolutely nothing to do with this event and they are still alive with absolutely no connection to 911.

Those were mistaken identeties. There were hijackers otherwise 911 couldnt took place, even if you take into account the conspiracy theories.
