On October 30 2009, the United States joined 152 countries in support of an "Arms Trade Treaty Resolution" (1), which establishes dates for a 2012 United Nations conference intended to strip American/global sovereignty by stripping citizens of their right to bear arms. The General Assembly, consisting of 192 UN member governments, adopted a resolution setting out a timetable over the next two years to discuss the Arms Trade Treaty Resolution, including a final UN conference which is set to take place in 2012. Ummm, I don't think so.

Full story and video.

Just another conspiracy theory.

That treaty is never intended to restrict weapons to civilians in their own countries.
But to restrict the arms trade to countries that are likely to end up abusing them.

But apparently that does not stop conspiracy theorist from pulling the whole thing out of context and use it for propaganda for their own ideologies.

That's true, not all nutjobs own guns, but don't you think the ones who do are a little scary?

I'm all for people having their guns and shit, but I think there needs to be tougher control on them. Just make it harder for them to fall into the wrong hands.

I'm with Lycanox on this because I could never see another country stripping the citizens of this country using an arms treaty. The citizens don't pose a threat to any one country except our own.

I seriously doubt any one will want to fight the bloody insurrection and civil war that would result from any attempt to take guns from Americans.
