The story of how Bush proclaimed and exploited the power with respect to enemy combatants vivifies the war on terrorism’s threat against the U.S. Constitution. On November 13, 2001, Bush issued an executive order establishing military tribunals for the trial and potential execution of any person he labeled an “enemy combatant.” He dictated that people classified as enemy combatants “shall not be privileged to seek any remedy … directly or indirectly … in any court of the United States. http://www.fff.org/freedom/fd0407c.asp

I checked out the site, but it seems to be rather fraudulent to me. Considering an order like that wouldn't be strictly up to Bush. (thank god for smaller government?) but you're article seems like it would try and persuade the Bush crowd to go Anti-Bush. Plan and simple propaganda.

Whether bush does it or not, the govt has (even if not decreed by bush) the power to declare one an enemy combatant without any burdon of proof (as shown by the cases of padilla, lindh, et al) and deny them any rights (until recently when courts ruled that gitmo prisoners should be allowed attorneys)... and its ridiculous...

and HH- this lack of rights does not start nor end with the bush administration... so please, stop putting the blame there, as if Bush is the first to employ it.

not sure at all what reminding people "that what capitalism is in the face of desparation, thats all!" means... no clue at all, seriously.

not sure quite what you mean, but i am always willing to show humility and repent with it... in this case, Bush is not the source nor end of our lack of freedom, so I feel no reason to "repent" my saying such.
