John Kerry's National Security Policy
On May 27th John Kerry laid out the 4 fundamental parts of his Nation Security Policy:
First, we must launch and lead a new era of alliances for the post-9/11 world.
Second, we must modernize the world's most powerful military to meet the new threats.
Third, because our military might is not the only source of power, of our power in the world, we must deploy all that is in the American arsenal -- our diplomacy, our intelligence system, our economic power, and most importantly, the appeal, the extraordinary appeal that through centuries has made us who we are, the appeal of our values and our ideas.
Fourth and finally, to secure our full independence, our full freedom, to be the masters of our own destiny, we must free America from its dangerous dependence on Mideast oil.

Yes, it's ok, you can stop laughing now. Here, lets take a closer look over this again, shall we?
First, we must launch and lead a new era of alliances for the post-9/11 world.
Later on in his speech as he continued to lay out or attempted to lay out his National Security Policy he elaborated on his first imperative of leading and launching a 'new-era' alliance. He also was quoted on saying "Shredding alliances is not the way to win the war on terror or even to make America safer." Yes Mr. Kerry that is true. But, waiting for others to bicker and quarrel on whether if they should wage war over money through Mideast oil is a totally different thing. Just because Germany, France, and Russia whom all had oil pacts with Saddam Hussein in the past didn't want to go in and help liberate Iraq from Saddam Hussein means nothing. Well I'm sorry, let me correct that. What it means is they don't care about the west and our safety. They regard oil more than their own friends.
Second, we must modernize the world's most powerful military to meet the new threats.
Great! I strongly agree with you on that Mr. Kerry. But I'm not too sure Mr. Kerry agrees with Mr. Kerry!
