Not that the turtle pace at which the government is anything new, but how about all that "spirit" and "loyalty" a country pays to its soldiers while the government says it cant feel sorry for them.
I agree that these men and women know what they can lose by being involved in military actions, but that the government and citizens would turn their backs on their wounds and disabilities is disgusting.
Yeah, we send them off to war and those who have been permanently injured in some way that dont end up in body bags get treated no better than the prisoners. They just have to bend over a different way.

"They sent us to fight an enemy and when we returned, we had to fight another enemy - us."
This kills. Imagine if you were to put your heart and soul into fighting for your country but then get slapped in the face by that very same country you faught to protect... this is just sad.

If soldiers chose to leave because of the kind of treatment their peers are getting, I wouldnt look down on them. That is the most shameful form of "honor" I can even think of. Welcome home guys, thanks for getting permanently injured for our agenda. Now bend over.

unfortunately, there doesnt seem to be enough money to cover the real purpose of government due to other crap bush has pushed (which no doubt leaves mad libs happy) like steel tariffs and prescription medicare coverage.

I gotta say, America is breaking down slowly. Isn't it so obvious? It wont be "obvious" to me until people start making a public and unified effort to force changes from our elected officials. Until then it seems to me they find more value in front of the tube. :nono:

Alright now subs, you leave my dad's prescription coverage alone. At least until I can afford to pay for it myself.

perhaps you could afford to pay it if you weren't taxed to death to pay everyone elses prescription drug coverage.

Dude, I said leave it alone until I can, which will be soon. Geez Besides, I have no problem with taking care of the old ones. Its not like anyone knew exactly what the economy would be like now back then. Old people should not be thrown away or punished. In my dad's day there wasnt as much of an emphasis on retirement funds as there is now. Id pay for old people, not people hooked up on the welfare IV. :dunno:

you assume i want old people to die? my mom was raised on social security due to her dad being in the military and dead due to a simple operation of tonsils being removed (i guess it wasn't so simple at the time)... I have no problem helping old people, or even young people. I love to do it when I can. And I could do so more often and provide them and myself with more money (ie, do it more efficiently) than a govt bueracracy (sp) could ever hope to. As a libertarian, I object to being forced to, especially at the expense of me being able to help my own family first, and who I choose to second.
