Natural disasters, Demons and war? Would some of you guys say: they all cause the same magnitude of fear? Would some of you guys say: the same in magnitude, but different in feeling? or one is scarier than the other?

"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fullfill the book"

I suppose if I watched a Tsunami rise over the tree tops I would be more frightened then if radioactive wind was heading in my direction or if Jesus or Shiva or something appeared floating over Jerusalem. Actually they would be different feelings because one is more frantic and more abrupt than the other, and of course more visibly obvious of your own demise.

A natural disaster for me...atleast with war/demons I'd be able to fight back or figure some way of preserving myself, but with an natural disaster they usally last seconds and you're pretty much screwed if you have no warning and are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I agree, and there isn`t much you could do against a Tsunami as DarkAce points out with natural disasters.

You forgot to include idiots in your list. Idiots are the only thing that brings fear to micky.

Have you disposed of all the mirrors in your house MD? Does anyone know what the weather is like in Massachusetts this time of year?
The demons can have a taste of the thick end of my pool cue. It hasn't seen use for so long. (I believe that there's a tournament in Boston (Blackthorn Bar, Broadway) that's worth entering for a lot of Guiness...). :spy:
Sorry, sidetracked, the demons scare me because I know I'm just going to go mental on their a#se, uncontrollable; volcanic eruptions worry me because I'm highly flammable, no amount of swimming ability is going to save me from a tidal wave and as much as I'd like to hit a home run with the incoming doom rock falling from the sky, that's just not going to be feasible (I'll have a bloody good go though...)
In short, demons don't exist, war is a case of putting up your best fight and hoping it's good enough for survival and natural disasters are a bitch.

Yupp. Anything that you have a chance against is not too scary.

DarkAce hit the nail on the head for me, you just can't fight natural disasters as easily. A demon you could probably shoot with a gun (or some sort of special anti demon weapon) but with a natural disaster shooting at a tornado or wave with your bullets probably won't do much.

I'd be glad to see Jesus. Demons are the most welcoming to me since god probly isn't going watch as the Devil and his minions kill his people. Demons could be fought by humans even. If there is truth to some of the legendary weapons fashioned throught out time (Example: The Masamune, often seen in Final Fantasy is a real weapon. It was fabled to have holy powers. If that were true, than we could fight demons though it might be a suicidal thought.)Natural disaster is what scares me, no way to fight that, you know?

me, wars would freak me out the most. Think about it, we are in a nuclear age. What do we have, enough nuclear war heads in the world to blow up the worl 27 times or something like that. Not to mention, if there was a war like that between multiple countries, ALL life would be wiped out. No air, water, hell not even bacterria due to heat. Roaches would die too. No way to save yourself from that. I have to agree with Onikiri about demons. As for natural disasters, it depends on the type and the cause. That rock in Africa that could fall, scares the ship outta me for a wave size. Wall of water comming at me would be scary. Other natural disasters dont seem as bad(depending on where you are) compared to a nuclear war.

I too would be worried about every nation fighting. That is how the bible describes Judgement Day, that all nations would be fighting. Demons might be the last thing we should worry about, because angels protect us. I don't think we truly know what a demon would look like, nor do we know satan what he would look like. They could be all around us for all we know.
