Bush Misleads on Global Warming
Campaigning for the presidency in 2000, George W. Bush promised to place mandatory caps on carbon dioxide emissions to control global warming.1 After he assumed office - in what was widely seen as payback for the energy industry that helped finance his campaign - Bush quickly reneged on his pledge.2 Bush claimed such regulations were inappropriate because there was no clear scientific link between human activity and global warming.3
But last week, a report signed by Bush's Secretary of Commerce Don Evans and Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham,4 concluded, "rising temperatures in North America are due in part to human activity."5 The report found that global warming was already causing draught, damaging farms and changing migration patterns.6
Nevertheless, the Bush administration is still content to do nothing. John H. Marburger, the president's top science adviser, said the report has "no implications for policy."7 Bush himself denies that there has been any change in the administration's position. Asked by the New York Times to explain the switch, Bush replied "Ah, did we?...I don't think so."8

Of course humans have an affect on global warming. I think most people would agree with that. This has been happening for centuries Yet you still get in your bush bashing. I have yet to meet a person who hates our president more than you. Good day.

Let's face it most, if not all Republicans have a terrible record when it comes to the enviroment. The only Republican in the modern era that has a somewhat positive or at least good intentioned enviroment policy was Nixon.
Anyways it's clearly obvious that human activity along with a natural change is going on. We're just speeding it up.

I have yet to meet a person who hates our president more than you. Good day. Unfortunately for you, the Bush Administration has made it a policy to ignore things of environmental significance such as this. Thus, its not bashing; its the truth. Its a truth that has been calculated, planned and carried out since Cheney's days in Wyoming.
Starting in 1986, Cheney was one of the few Representatives who voted against the Safe Drinking Water Act. He backed tax breaks for energy corporations as well as fighting efforts to clean up hazardous waste.
Ill go even farther and Substand can correct me if Im wrong being he is the Constitutionazi (I gave him that name with love). And I cant seem to find exactly where I read it.
Isnt there somewhere in the Constitution that forbids a states electors to vote on a candidate and runningmate that come from the same state? Isnt that what happened in Texas? At the time of the 2000 elections Cheney was no longer considered a resident of Wyoming and hadnt been for years. He was considered a resident of Texas.

I knew my dear Subs would come through. I stand corrected....
in article 2 section 1 clause 3 and in the 12th amendment it says that electors cannot vote for 2 ppl from the same state as themselves
Cheney changed his voter registration back to Wyoming even though he resided in Texas. Not illegal but smacks of deceit to me. Just my opinion.

Thank you i am on the west coast so i think we will be ok. I know the bush admin is not envionmentally friendly as most people would like. All i was trying to say is humans have been accelerating global warming since the caveman discovered fire.

Well, a couple million fires doesn't exactly compare to 6 billion people breathing, 1 billion cars, power plants, homes with heating systems, factories...

I just heard today that this past summer actually was in the top 20 coolest summers in all the years, that records have been kept. Climate changes happen all the time. History itself is record of a natural process that clean's the planet up. We are due for a bath any year now. Maybe the bath will make certain groups of people alot happier.

I bet these days that no one could live without these very items. The people of this modern world would croak if they didn't have their television or their nose. :yummm: Or even their Ice Cream.

Apparently whoever made this statement doesnt realize the possibility of it being wrong. Especially since it seems with the recent heatwave going on in Texas that Beelzebub has made his residence in the Lone Star state. LOL :52:

The Homeless live without any of those items every day.
The reason why they say the earth is not warming up - that it is just another cycle of weather extrememes - is because they are using computer models that are based on an evolutionary dating method (i.e. that the earth is billions of years old etc). If they were to recalibrate the programs to a young earth (i.e. 4000 BC at the time of the flood and the ice age), they would find that the earth is warming up substancially faster then even the Doom and Gloomers are saying.
And, that will increase at an exponential rate...

Ah, actually, I just believe the Word of God.
And, bright boy, if the earth is billions of years old, then why don't the computer models accurately show the obvious Global Warming Tread.
Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out - you might get a concussion... :gtfo:

No, I am a forum administrator. As such I can moderate this forum in any way I see fit. My reply to DBA was a little joke between me and him, and you would not know anything about the background of this, since you've only been here a short period of time.
I must say I am amazed by your agressiveness. Only a few days on the board and you already got one of your posts deleted. Keep it up jesterbr549... That's the spirit we're looking for here...[/acid sarcasm]
