For fans of the world's most famous, and lovably eccentric explosives genius... I thought I'd add this to the Survival/Preparedness section as a resource. In a SHTF-event, I'm relying on explosive-materials to survive almost as much as ballistic-weapons.

Why things work... and why things don't work.

Ha ha i've got a healthy fascination with explosives like everybody else..:)
When I lived on the 18th floor of a tower block I used to make harmless 'bombs' out of blank shotgun cartridges by sellotaping a half-inch ball-bearing to the detonator end (the weight ensured it hit the ground detonator-first, the shock transmitting itself upward into the firing cap like a firing pin), and glueing paper stabilising fins to the other end.
Then at night I used to bomb anybody who was asking for it, such as street gangs and security guards, dog walkers, car drifters etc.
The fiery orange blast was quite impressive..
(One failed to explode once, and the security guards began examining it in amazement ha ha)

That was really stupid, waymarker. If you left the wad, that alone could harm if it was positioned correctly. Anyway, explosives rock, but should be used with much care.
