Maybe we could get a poll going on this, to nominate the AO king.... or queen of comedy.

It would personally be a toss up between Richard Prior and Bill Hicks for myself...

Carlins voice was too irritating for him to amuse me...... Bill Murray, however, was insanely funny.....

From HBO specials I've seen, defintely Chris Rock and Robin Williams. Bunch of people whos' names I don't recall but I'd also give a mention to Richard Jenni.
