The team took 19 modern mammals, including the pig, human and rat, and used the algorithm to work out the genome of their common ancestor, thought to be a shrew-like animal that lived more than 70 million years ago. They focused on a small region of the genome that codes for ten genes.

Well now, according to them, 66 million years before Homo Habilis, we were rodents. LOL I wonder what other creatures are in that genealogy.

We started out as rats and then things got worst. Sound right to me. :headbang:

Oh, and I'd like to add that if you go back far enough, you can find the common ancestor to man and cockroach and, thanks to the cockroach, that would be way way back in the past.

wow thats kool... to bring this even further bak in time I have beliefs that some alien's (from space) created us... it just seems 2 xplain so many things like y there wuz such a big start in life forms that could had taken millions of years but according 2 scientists and geologists etc. it took a way shorter time... but I have no crued facts just stories i've heard and read somewhere... and i can't remember where srr...

Shrews now? What next? I cant stand the thought that I might have a common link with things like Michael Jackson, Jeffery Dahmer and a few of the petri dish samples that post on this forum.
