On January 1, 2005 all cell phone numbers will be made public. This means that your cellphone will become a target for telemarketers. If you wish to stop and/or prevent these types of calls on your cell phone you can register your phone numbers (home too!) on the "Do Not Call" list.

donotcall.gov (http://donotcall.gov)

Be aware that it can take up to three months for your number to be registered.

As it stands now, many telemarketing companies use computers to harvest numbers. Often when you get a phone call that hangs up on you it is a computer dialing a series of numbers and identifying that your number is good. Then the list of telephones numbers is sold to other firms. Often the telephone call you are getting is originating in another country so "do not call" lists may be ineffective.

The rest of the time the hang up phone calls are the CIA/PTB/NWO/Illuminati out to get you for whatever you posted here. :smokin:

Supposedly, even if they "harvest" your number they are not to call you at all if you are on the do not call registry. N00 R00lz, similar to the registry to end junk mail. If they do they get whupped.
