What about motor vehicle accidents? They kill and injure more people than cigarettes because cigarettes shorten life expectency, rather than kill people. Perhaps we should criminalize cars because they cause death, and they promote obeisity, as well as causing air pollution which leads to premature death as much as cigarettes do, if not more often.

Neither smoking nor marijuana will kill you for sure, it's your birth that ensures your death, it's as simple as that. *shrugs*
Besides, if you consume marijuana by other means than smoking you won't have to deal with the effects of smoking.
And more, i belief that the chemicals used to 'refine' tobacco are the source of most of the high-level carcinogens in tobacco.
And the death statistics are heavily biased as anyone directly or indirectly smoking who is dying of a so-called smoker-disease is considered dead by smoking no matter if that person worked in a toxic environment, was genetically sensitive or changed uranium cores with his bare hands.
Anyway
It does not matter how long you live or how you die, the only thing that matters is that you live *now' and that you *will* die.

It's much easier to die from nicotine than from THC...

which kills faster? who knows. most people dont smoke weed like they smoke cigarettes, so its like asking "which kills faster, cigarrettes or accordians?"

I can say as a member of the expose group that cigarettes do kill faster than weed as cigarettes aren't natural, they have over 4000 deadly chemical substances, and weed is all natural of course this might depend on who sells it to you but yeh some deaths where innocently blamed on cigarettes but the great majority is true deaths caused by cigarettes... and if I remember correctly cigarettes kill more people than car accidents or atleast this is true in canada I'm not sure about the ratio in other countries

All natural? Thats not an argument for anything. Cyanide is all natural.
As a matter of fact, everything in the world is "all natural" if you want to get down to it.

by natural: I mean that no chemical substances where added to it by humans...

Actually, that's not true. Lawencium, for example, is found nowhere in nature.
But, it would kill you more quickly than either pot or cigs.

Well, that's not true - most cigarette manufactures are now under scrutiny for adding all sorts of chemicals to cigarettes. Agents to make - and keep - you addicted more easily, agents that will make the cigarette burn slightly faster, all sorts of stuff.

It depends, if it is smoked marijuana w/o a filter, then marijuana would be more harmful sicne the smoke stays in your lungs for a longer time.
If it is chewable/ingestible marijuana, it is MUCH safer than cigarrettes.
My vote goes to cigarrettes.

Even though mj is primarily smoked without a filter, cigarettes are smoked at a rate of about 25/day (pack a day, some more, some less). mj is normally smoked at a rate of one or two per day for heavier, more frequent users. No contest.
FYI - I have heard of research being done in the medical marijuana field that suggests that ingesting THC does not have the same effect as smoking/inhaling. This is a problem for many patients as their appetite is supressed. However, researchers have been working on extracting THC from the mj so that it can be put into an inhaler, like an asthma inhaler. This would eliminate the negative health effects of smoking it.
