Hillary's Poll Numbers Startling

If the 2008 presidential election were held today, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton would handily defeat three of the top Republicans being touted as possible candidates, a startling new survey by Fox News Opinion Dynamics shows.

In a race between Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Clinton, the New York Democrat would win by 7 points, defeating Frist 40 percent to 33 percent, the poll found.

Matched against New York Gov. George Pataki, Clinton's margin of victory drops by 1 point, but she'd still win 41 percent to 35 percent.
In the most stunning development, the Fox survey found the former first lady would even defeat Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 46 percent to 35 percent.

Opinion Dynamics also found that "a clear majority of voters thinks Hillary Clinton is qualified to be president of the United States (59 percent), including a third of Republicans, 58 percent of independents and 84 percent of Democrats.

Two of the most popular Republicans, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Sen. John McCain, were not included in the poll.

However, a Quinnipiac University survey released last week showed that Giuliani would defeat Clinton 45 percent to 43 percent if he were to run for her Senate seat in 2006.

The Fox poll also showed that John Kerry would defeat Gov. Bush if Kerry were to run again in 2008, but by a smaller margin than Clinton - 45 percent to 37 percent.

Opinion Dynamics conducted the national telephone survey of 900 registered voters on December 14-15.

I found it rather surprising.. her being a Clinton and all.. what do you think?

Hi all this is my first post. I have discussed this topic with friends before. Although Hilary is very popular i don't think the US is ready for a female president. Sorry to all the ladies on the forum but its just my gut feeling. I do believe she will make a stong run at it in 08 however. As far as her opponent its going to be Arnold as soon as they get the constitiution changed and they will.

As a native New Yorker, I still am pissed at the Clintons, most notably Hilary for moving to NY and then working herself around the residency laws to be able to run for her joke of an office. Besides that minor point, it doesn't bother me in the least what gender/race/whatever a person is, I seriously believe that she would make a poor President. Her agenda and the way she presents it to us here in her "home state" have allways bothered me. But after the debacle that I would call the Bush administration, I'd vote for a hamster for President if it was running against a former Bush cabinet member...

SO WHAT?!?

I asked and posted because I found the results interesting, that's what. If you thought it was pointless you didn't have to respond.

Aren't a persons qualities more important than her hubbie?!?

My favorite quality about her is her boobies. Other than that, I like her feminist ideals and how she portrays them they way they ought to be portrayed: like a weak woman who has to stand by her man because without him she'd be nothing.

I guess polls dont equate to her winning, and i guess I got them confused. I couldn't see her winning a national election in the US... even though she wins in the poll.

I hope a hampster runs. That would be funny.

Hi all this is my first post.

Welcome to the forums.

As far as her opponent its going to be Arnold as soon as they get the constitiution changed and they will.

What makes you think they will change the constitution to let Arnold run for president? I assume if he finishes popularly in California (the only way he'd even be considered for nomination, IMO, besides the foreign thing) then Democrats will not want him to run. So they would not vote to change the Constitution to allow him to. I know most Republicans wouldn't want him as their president, and even if they did/do, then they still wouldn't have the required number of votes to amend the constitution.

Basically, I see the possibility of Arnold running for president (of the US at least) in 2008 as nil.

:gtfo:

uuuuurrrgghh talk about going to hell in a handbasket with rockets attached!

Maybe she can get Al to be her VP and we can all be a big "village" and sit around discussing why the US is the worst country and all those 3rd world villages are the best while terrorist both homegrown and foreign start suicide bombing here in the US.

I guess Hillary being Prez would be the "sign" for me that Armageddon has arrived.

Just the mere inkling of the thought that she could be my Commander In Chief makes me want to gather my stash and head for the hills. We would go on every single UN lead peace mission there was. They would line up for miles at the UN to get their cause on the table knowing she would take us there!

Since you dont have an emoticon showing someone puking just imagine Regan from The Exorcist puking right now and that would express my feeling on a "President Hillary"
