A once special privliage that only the Irish in the UK could experiance will now be extended to the whole population. House arrest with no trial and no jury. Old George Orwell would surely be having a fit if he was witnessing this. Blair says he understands that people would be nervous about losing traditional freedoms and rights, but they better shut to fuck up and get in line.

Thats usually how it starts, The new law doesnt refer directly to the 4 cases that have been release from Cuba. This is the same shit they pulled in Northern Ireland in the early 70īs. They introduced internment so they can ignore the law and arrest suspected IRA member, in a period of almost 2 years nearly 1000 Catholic men where being held with no charges and no date for release. So dont tell me they are not capable of pulling this shit again. Im not particularly a supporter of the IRA but when you start to strip basic rights from a population you are asking for trouble.

Yes, man!

You know, reading this, that Blair sounds a lot like Bush. And somewhere, Blair is more right than Bush. Blair has to defend England as an Island, but Bush defends the U.S. of A like his "Island"... Kissing someone's ass B.?

Still, it's a very bad thing to do, and will be worse after.

They're just trying to play catch up with the US ;)

I dont think the average American knows how much of the constitution has been butchered, and how many civil liberties have been trampled on during this "war on terror".
