I'm sure you have all heard the story of the boy named Caspar Hauser. If not the short version is this:

On May 26th 1828 in Nuremberg, Germany, a boy (about 16 yrs. old) was seen stagering around. He was seen by George Weichmann, a shoe maker. When the man tried to talk to the boy he couldn't make out what he was talking about. Mr. Weichmann noticed the boy had a letter adresses to "The Captain of the 4th Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment" (it is also said he had another letter from his mother stating to take care of him.). Anyways, eventually he was turned over to the police, one guard made this observation: "He can and does sit for hours without moving a limb. He does not pace the floor nor does he try to sleep. He sits rigidly without growing in the least uncomfortable. Also, he prefers darkness to light and can move about in it like a cat". When given paper to write the boy wrote three words cavalry casper and hausser. In his pocket was found a neckerchief, in one corner was the letters C.H. in red. Therefore they called him Caspar Hauser.

One of the guards brought Caspar home, he was astound the boy walked like a baby, he could barely talk etc...After some years Caspar was taught all the things that he missed out on in his mysterious past. One day someone of importance came to visit Casper, after all he had a kind of celebrity status around Germany. He asked Caspar were he came from and wrote it down.

Turns out that ever since he could remember Caspar was help in a tiny cell by an unknown masked-man, who fed him and gave him toys etc...The cell was dark and the only thing to do was play with a wooden horse and dog. After years of this treament (abuse) the man showed him how to walk and trace the letters Cavalry (in german) Caspar and Hauser.

He was placed in the care of a professor named, George Daumer. The professor was astounded at some of the things the boy could do and at some things that he did. after living with the professor for a bit, one day, Caspar was found uncncious with a stab wound in the head (Caspar said he was attacked by a man wearing a black mask). He was removed from Mr. Daumers custody and kpet in a secret location paid for by the public. If you can find it, you can read the biogrphy Mr. Daumer wrote in 1829 about Caspar.

In 1831 Lord Stanhope got the authorities to give him custody of Caspar. He brougth him around like a freak show everywhere, and people would flock to see the enigma that is Caspar Hauser. The boy didn't like this very much, he was flung back and forth between Lord Stanhope and another man who took possesion of him named Peter Meyer. Eventually both men lost interest in Caspar and abandoned him.

On December 11th 1833 Caspar was attacked as he walked through a park. Bleeding to death he staggered back to Peter Meyers house and told him what happened. Meyers did not believe him, instead he that Caspar had done this to himself as a cry for help. Three days after the attack Caspar died all along maintaining that he told the truth. The police, who were called to investigate the incident, found a wallet in the park. In it was a note that read: "Hauser will be able to tell you how I look, whence I came from and who I am. To spare him the task I will tell you myself...On the Bavarian border...on the river...My name is MLO"

Now, I have looked into this story and I keep finding nothing, some say it never happened, others have conspiracy theories, some ever claim that Caspar was an alien. Does anyone have any new evidence on this case or do you think we will never really know the true story of Caspar Hauser is?

In November 1996 the German magazine Der Spiegel reported an attempt to genetically match a blood sample from Kaspar Hauser's assumed pants. This analysis was made in laboratories of Forensic Science Service in Birmingham and in the LMU Institute of Legal Medicine in University of Munich. Comparisons with the members of the royal family were inconclusive. It later became clear that the examined pants did not come from Kaspar Hauser.

In 2002 however, the Institute for Forensic Medicine of the University of Münster analyzed hair and body cells that were also alleged to belong to Kaspar Hauser, and came to a more conclusive result. From different sources six samples altogether were taken: The boy's hat and trousers along with his hair curls, partially from the private collection of the Ansbacher chief presiding judge Feuerbach. The analysis took a long time as the results in the laboratory were examined several times over for the sake of accuracy. The genetic code was the same in all six samples, and was a 95% match to that of Astrid von Medinger, a descendant of Stephanie de Beauharnais, who would have been Kaspar Hauser's mother if indeed he had been the hereditary prince of Baden. The DNA evidence would seem to argue that Kaspar Hauser was indeed a descendant of the House of Baden.

there are also sevral books

hope this helps
