OK yall, alot of people have been asking: "Is the next Pope the anti-Christ? Will the next Pope be the last one? Are there one, two, or three popes left?" You have heard what people have said and are probably wondering. So here is the next Pope in a "nut-shell".....

The pope who will succeed John Paul II, will be a man committed to promote peace. He will seek to establish peace among the nations, peace among the Catholics, and peace between Catholics and followers of other religions. The pontificate of the next Pope after John Paul II will be distinguished for seeking to promote peace around the world.

We can expect the next pope to build upon the political and ecumenical accomplishments of John Paul II. He will be known as the Pope of Peace, helping to resolve outstanding political conflicts among the nations. His peacemaking efforts will be directed especially to the religious world, leading Christian and non-Christian religions, especially Islam, to accept the Pope as the symbol of the religious unity of mankind.

When this happens, he will change his name. He will call himself Peter and will align himself with the beast and the words of Revelation 13:3 will be fulfilled: the whole earth followed the beast with wonder (RSV).

All of this religious proclamation of doom and gloom has me really nervous. It sounds like Y2K all over again with people fleeing to the hills. And we all know how mankind just BARELY made it through THAT devastation...

Check this out. All this was in a prophecy from St. Malachy. So far he is 100% right. He prophacied every pope for the last 400 years. I mean hey i could be wrong. Dont take my word for it. See for yourself, but just remember what i said and watch it happen.

Ok, I've seen this quote in Nye's signiture for a while now in serveral threads and I feel I need to try and elaborate the story a little more.

This poor soul being crucified on this clay tablet had a mortal mother and his father was the supreme God. Upon his death, he was resurrected and ascended to heaven and belief in him brought salvation to the believers.

Ok, I have to argue this. I've studied Greek and Roman Mythology quite a bit lately and the story of Dionysus has always been one of my favorites. It is true that he was the son of a mortal woman and the supreme God, Zeus. But this clay tablet shows him being crucified. No where in the story of Dionysus is he crucified. The resurrection part of the story is a little more complicated as well. It is said that Dionysus "died" every year at the harvesting of the grapes. This would make sense because he is the god of wine, vine, and merriment. So when then grape vines are dead, so is he. Then he would be "resurrected" when the grapes began to grow again come spring. Dionysus never actually died in literal terms. He was an immortal god, how could he die? And as for ascending to Heaven, although he was one of the two great gods to live on earth, he could go to Heaven anytime he wanted. This is shown we he rescues his mortal mother from the underworld and take her up to Heaven to live among the gods. As you can see, accept for the being born to a mortal mother and supreme God, the story of Dionysus and Jesus is very different. Just because someone draws a picture of someone being crucified, does not make it true.

And this is all based on .....conjecture? Your prediction has as much basis as a prediction that the next pope will have tattoos on his arse. At least come up with a prophecy to support this predicition or something.

Hilarious Prez.

My money is on Craggy Islands own Ted Crilly. :2thumbs:

I think the next pope should be the black African guy. Just purely because he has seen what has happened to his continent due to improper education on AIDS and contraceptive and might try to bring the Vatican a little bit up to date.

Also the fact that he is black might also raise a few eyebrows and help unify this black/white/coloured racism thing that pollutes us. Forcing racist Catholics to dispel their racist attitudes.

Side note:
Catholics don't be offended by the racist point. I'm referring to Catholics who are racist, there are a billion Catholics and I'm guessing a few racists amongst them and the thought of them having to accept that a black man is chosen by god as the head of their faith, or go to hell pleases me.

The ultimate goal for the next pope should be a Lesbian, Black Woman. That would put a smile on my face. ::)):

John Paul 1 plus John Paul 2 = 3. Somebody added up all the popes in history and came up with 665. If the next pope chooses a name never before used by a pope it will be 666. Peter is a name never before used by a Pope. Here is a website that explains it. http://www.666beast.net/

Out of curiosity i used the uncoveringcode calculator on each of the Candidates and i got a very intersting result.

The Candidates for pope :

Godfried Danneels - 852

Francis Arinze - 858

Claudio Hummes - 864

Jorge Bergoglio - 870

Walter Kasper - 894

Giovanni Battista - 1092

Oscar Maradiaga (http://www.iple.org/papa25/original/istmo%20con%20voz%20propia_files/582915.jpg) - 666 - Maybe it's a sign? A lot of news sites are saying that he's a favorite and tipped to be the next pope. "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Revelation 13: 18"

Feel free to run the above names in here -> http://www.geocities.com/uncoveringcode/calculatorgate.html

Just as USMC wrote, according to the malachi prophecy the nest pope will be the "Glory of the olives" or a peace maker. Suppose he is benedictine? I expect the "covenant with many" to be confirmed very close to either Nov. 18 or Dec. 21 this year. no in betweens!!!!!!!!!!! Hey JudgeX is Oscar Maradigia a benedictine Monk? Conclave to elect the next pope set to begin april 18.

Oscar Maradigia is a Benedictine monk who once taught theology, you can find loads of links to sites about him on google.

Heres a profile of Oscar Maradigia -
Rodriguez Maradiaga, who turned 62 in December, could draw votes in Rome because he represents the growing number and power of Latin American Catholics. In addition, he's respected by conservatives and reformers alike, and many in the church see him as a potential bridge between the groups.

On many issues he is more flexible than many of his peers in Latin America, where conservative Catholicism is standard. But on issues of sexuality, his public statements have followed John Paul's conservative line. He has suggested that the United States has exported liberal views on abortion and contraception to its neighbors, to their detriment.

The malachy prophecy states the nest pope will be the last..........later some benedictines amended the prophecy and said the last pope would comefrom their order and be called Peter. What if Mariagia is elected and fulfills both prophecies by calling himself peter and making the infamous "peace" treaty with isreal for 7 years...............sometime on Nov.18.???????????????or Dec.21???

Thanks for the profile and the links, but I believe you are mistaken about Maradigia being of the Benedictine Order. He is from the Salesian Order.

I could find none of the leading candidates mentioned in the articles I have read as being from the Benedictine Order.

I believe that Revelations is just that, a revelation into the last days shared by the Lord. However, while we should look to the future, we shouldn't lose sight of the present. The present, every day, leads to the future, it just doesn't sneak up on us. So what do we do in the present, look to the future or do we do our all to make today better. Why worry about tomorrow, for we are guaranteed no tomorrow, it's a gift opened every dawn for us to take advantage of.

Now here's an interesting question though, let's say that the next pope is indeed the False Prophet, elected to pave the way for the Antichrist, and prophecies begin to become fulfilled at an alarming rate. How many non-believers would take heed and come to the Lord? I know that many have been exposed to Revelations, so if they come to pass, would they see the truth of what's happening or turn their backs?

I merely offer that as a topic of discussion seeing as it is relevant to the topic! :D

The bible does say that the anti-christ has a foot in the sea. (Italy being in the shape of a foot like it is) I'm thinking this means he has a stepping stone/strong hold, or as many here said, someone to pave the way for him. So the Pope could well be the 'devils associate' so to speak.
