View Full Version : The Biblical "Two Witnesses": Who are they?

The Prophets were inspired to write in Isa.2:2 and Mic.4:1 that in the Last Days
there would be a work started.
Is this were the two witnesses will be?
If so can any one tell me where this will be.
Thank you

. . .Just wanted to let you know, I had to move this topic as you had placed it in the wrong section. At first, I had searched all of the "Religion" Section thread header to see if there was something I could combine this with; I found that I could not, because nobody had ever thought to ask? this question before. In respect to those that DO study the bible and look for prophecy and in how it may fit, I know this topic carries great import so I found it strange? that someone never had. . .Well, anyway, so that it may attract the proper attention, I also re-named it so that it would be more 'noticable'. Sorry to do so many changes, we just have to do these things to keep things neat, orderly and tidy. With time, (and don't be afraid to click-on any topic-header and search-out all the different focuses of debate within!) I am certain you'll understand where to place things. . .Wasn't so-long ago I was doing the very same thing!
Anywho, a most worthy topic! Kudos! And welcome to the forum!

Hello Sage and welcome,
The two witnesses are part of an extensive study in biblical prophecy which I would be more than willing to share with you and then you can based upon that study determine for yourself exactly who these two individuals were.

I am no expert on the scriptures, but I think I remember them saying the two witnesses would be dressed in sackcloth and ashes.... which denotes repentence.
And that they will do battle with the beast. He will defeat them (kill them) and leave their bodies in the marketplace for 3 days, afterwards they will rise from the dead, and just get up and walk off, scare-ing the crap out of all who see it!!!
I don't have a clue who they are (or will be), but I am intensely curious...
What else do we know about these guys from scripture????
Any posting of verbage with chapter and verse will be appreciated....

I've been studying Bible prophecy for a long time from many angles. Some prophecies believe the two witnesses are the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. One source for this is the book, "Daniel and The Revelation" by Uriah Smith. You could find it just by typing in that title on your computer browser.

The Bible is Symbolism. It was not written for people to take "literally" (pun intended heh) but, rather to use it as a guide and a tool for your lives.
Even Divinci figured that out and used symbolism in his paintings!
