Yes indeedly doo! Our own moderator EVIL WILL stars in the independant film "Spent Casings"!

EW plays "James", who is a businessman that attempts to take over a business empire controlled by two mafia families. Turning them against eachother, everything seems to be going to plan, until he is discovered, and finds himself running from the mob.

Right now the film is playing at the Digital Media World Festival in Melbourne, Australia until the later part of June. http://www.dmw.com.au/html/dvfest.htm

It will also be playing at the Revelation Perth Film Festival from June 23-July 12, 2005 in Perth, Australia. http://www.revelationfilmfest.org

If you are interested in possibly aquiring "Spent Casings" you must communicate with the brains behind all of this, Timmy the young man behind the films and his production company Flashburn Films. http://www.flashburnfilms.tk/

Hes still trying to figure out postage, shipping and what not so it may not be possible to send just anywhere.

Id really like to congratulate Evil Will, Edge and Timmy for working so hard on this even after a couple of "mishaps" one of which brought an early demise to a very much liked camera. Its really great to see young people working so hard on something that most people would write off as an "adult" thing to do.

Keep it up guys! :2thumbs:

Just be careful cause he isnt done with Modern yet so dont ask (about school stuff)!

I'm watching "Spent Casings" right now! OMG this is GREAT! You guys are so cool! Kudos to Will and Edge! I'll let y'all know how it is when I watch the whole thing. :headbang:

Okay! My son, sister and I watched the whole thing and I must say that I'm very impressed! The opening credits were very artistic and I loved the story. I would really like to see it developed into a feature length film someday.

This will probably come off wrong but my sister and I couldn't help but think how cute these guys were as gangsters. I know, I know, it blows the whole concept of "tough guy" but it was still cute. The guys looked adorable! LOL

We also got the shipping figured out so if anyone in the US is interested in ordering a DVD, PM me and I'll get you set up on how to order with Tim or you can contact him via the Flashburn Films website mentioned in a post above. Actually, if your country has an electronic money transfer company (such as Western Union in the US) and they transfer money to Australia, you can order it.

FYI, this is a 19 minute short film in PAL/Region 4 DVD format so if you are in the US and Canada, you'll have to watch it on your computer. The DVD also includes behind the scenes footage, a trailer, effects featurettes and the directors commentary.

Now that we're finished, Timmy will be working on getting his portfolio together for Uni submissions and he can get into his film degree and hopefully end up doing this stuff for a living.

I'll always be happy to act in any of his movies but I don't think it's my kind of career. :p

Yep, he okay'd it, they've got a local channel there that is similar. He's going to work up a VHS copy and I sent him and Will the link for the Northampton festival for next year.

Heh, when I look back at that move I think it should have be redone... it looks odd. Of course the idea of slicing Edge open was appealing.

Heh, when I look back at that move I think it should have be redone... it looks odd. Of course the idea of slicing Edge open was appealing. Will! I'm aghast! Considering the actual years of experience you all have at such a young age AND in doing most of it on your own, the guerilla filmmaking tactics that had to be used at times and the things that went wrong (squibs, blowing up a camera) it to me is an exceptional piece of work! You young men had everything against you and still put forth a very credible and watchable film.

Sure, many things could've been redone, but just having watched it as it is, I am truly impressed with all of your efforts. The masterpieces of the young become the models for the old.

Example; Robert Rodriguez "El Mariachi", a stellar piece of guerilla filmmaking much like what Timmy did with "Spent Casings" and the only real difference is Mariachi is a feature length film. That movie was so good the distributors put it out as it was, no changes. ;)

Ha ha - as I have to leave in about 5 minutes to get to training I'll be brief.

The movie was pretty fun to make and after speaking to Tim we may start something up in a couple of months time after we get uni etc sorted out. Currently my main focus is getting a job (looks like I'll be working at a cinema - ha ha), u20's next month (fencing) and getting this band of mine up and running properly as well as starting a Twisted Sister cover band.

Thanks to all who have reviewed/congratulated in this thread.

Later, Edge.

Uh Edge? Have you scheduled any time to breathe?

Keep us posted, especially on the Twisted Sister cover band! May I ask if you will be covering Dee Snider? Cmon, that's a video I would have to see! Edge with a ton of eye make up! And that hair! :52:

Well I know several people willing to alter my appearence so perhaps. I hadn't thought of filming any of it but we'll see. Vocally I'm a Bass II so I can handle some parts and if I can get control of the good ol' falsetto...

I'm getting an amp hopefully by the end of the week so I'll be able to practice properly soon which is great. Currently I've been working on doing vocals and guitar at the same time to Hand Of Doom. Gotta love the classics.

The new Darkthrone looks like it'll be killer.

Also I have plenty of time for air, but remember don't metal with evil.

Defiant Noquisi
Dec 12th, 2005, 5:29 PM
I've got a little Peavey amp and a wannabe Yamaha that needs some work, where the amp cord plugs into the guitar is loose so it doesn't sound very good and cuts out. I also have a Washburn acoustic/elec thats very nice. I want to get the neck on it straightened and maybe someday I'll even learn how to play it.

I'm a mid soprano and I can fake some octaves higher and lower. Think Stevie Nicks and/or Janis Joplin but just a bit higher and without as much of a rasp unless I've been singing all night. I've been told I can sing Fleetwood Mac's "Sara" dead on. Yeah, I know it's not metal but there hasn't been one chick I've heard that can do it and I'll listen for any length of time and that includes myself.

How's competition been going? Are you ready for the Olympics yet?

Edge
Dec 12th, 2005, 5:38 PM
I'm looking at a Kustom Kaud 100DFX or an old marshall.

I haven't been training enough with last term being full of school stuff. That said I'm working on all the stuff I can do at home.

Defiant Noquisi

Well good luck in all your endevours! I will be awaiting your announcment of making the Olympic team.

And you can post more damnit!
