Sage

Because they have changed the Laws and chosen to follow the Goddamned Gods of this world!
On every street in almost every town you will see little whore houses called churches.
In these places of worship the Gods of this world are severed.
They are all opposed to telling the truth, and preach a false savior.
Most of them call themswlves Christians of one sort or another.
These people are the deceived ones written about in Rev.12:9.
They are not willing to study for themselves, they trust their lying preacher boys.
Sad but true they will soon pray that the Gods they worship will save them from the true Messiah.

Don't be amoung these deceived pagans.

Christianity is one of the most butchered religions I have seen. People think they are Christian, but really aren't. They think that just going to church "is enough." Heck I don't even go to Church and I consider myself Christian, since I attempt to serve the Lord as best I can. I try to listen to the gosepel and obey the word of God, but hey, no one's perfect.

So sage, are you getting all Jake99 on us, do you know who this true messiah is?

I'm not taking the piss, just interested?

I mostly happen to agree with your post, religion is practiced by man. Man interprets this to suit his needs at all times, perhaps all you need to be closer to your god is follow the words of your messiah Jesus and cut out the rest of the crap from the bible.

However what this has to do with politics I just don't know?

:2thumbs: Hey Vegas R I just luv your new avatar. where can I get one like that? And Sage n Co - God is what you want it to be. Its a world where every person has their own opinion of God/no God or whatever. If people choose to worship something that makes them feel more comfortable in life then thats their perogative or stupidity - depending on which way you look at it. The most important thing in life is for us to stop criticizing others for their foolishness and to look at our own stuff. Concentrating on others is not as important as sorting out our own spiritual life - if we have one at all.... And in any case, aint you a sage? :prin:

Hey Vegas R I just luv your new avatar. where can I get one like that? Thanks! I just stumbled across it on the net, and I thought it was pretty cool. I thought it kind of ironic becuase it looks like someone is viewing an alien fleet invading, from their window but it looks like its going to be a mismatch in technology. In the corner of the window you can see a sword lying against the wall. One of the sides aren't prepared, and I don't think its the guys arriving in the spaceships.

Pagans? Are you calling christians pagans?
Well, that my good sir is an insult of uttermost kind.
Prepare to duel! *tries to stab you with a rapier*

No, but seriously. You seem to be just another one of those aggressive Atheists that can't stand that some people actually beleives in something and has to spend your whole life convincing others that their beleifs are untrue.

And if you're smart, find the "proof" to support what you, yourself beleive.

Well, point is: There is no proof for anything. Neither the excistence or absence of a higher being. So stop being such a "mr-know-it-all", get down from your piedestal and have a look around. What another christian pointed out to me is that mostly it's not the christian "fanatics" that flips in discussions, but instead it's the atheists. Or at least, the "fanatic" atheists (yes, you CAN be a fanatic atheist).

Fanatics though rarely represents the opinion of the whole group. That's why they're called "extremeists" by most people.

I don't think sage is atheist.

I do wonder how you figured 4/5, tho

1. Sage didn't flip in the discution, in fact he started the thread, he wasn't really discussing at all.
2. Actualy, if anyone, you seem to be the one that is fliping out, not Sage and whoever else you seem to be refering to.
3. And really, Christians are flipping out all the time, at leaste atheists can accept their own "religion"/belief. Because many Christians even try to convert catholics, even though they both believe in Jesus as G-d.

Sage? If Sage is an atheist, I'm the elven king of the moon.

Mostly Sage is a Christian who's so diehard he thinks even other Christians aren't holy enough for him. You might try rereading the post in that light - I think it makes a little more sense. (After all, why would an atheist talk about "changing the laws"?)

Edit: Dammit, Bob, no ninja-ing my post!

Sage didn't flip in the discution, in fact he started the thread, he wasn't really discussing at all.

... Uh, I think referring to churches as whorehouses could be considered a "flip".

Beware, the Beatnik knows all............I come in the night with my samurai sword, and cut posts to shreds! <evil laugh that lasts for 5 minutes>

Beware the BEATNIK! :nudge:

Uh, I think referring to churches as whorehouses could be considered a "flip". True, but still, Virgo shouldn't respond to hostility by acting hostile.

C'mon, you know what I mean. A single being higher than anything else. With allmighty powers and such.

1. As someone pointed out, the "churches are whorehouses" part made me react the way I did. I din't know he was a christian extremeist, and I'm sorry for not picking that up before posting. Okay?

2. Well, I thought I kinda was respondig in a "nice" way. At least I don't think I flipped. It sure didn't feel like it anyway ^^

3. I never said that all christians are smart. But I have experienced some less than pleasent debates with atheists that just went crazy when they noticed that you actually was able to respond to the things thrown at ya'. Generalisations are bad, I get the point.

A believer? I dunno. If you're referring to the "goddamned" as taking God's name in vain, I wouldn't say so. After all, he seems to be literally saying "damned by God", so it's proper.

Of course, it would be a lot less redundant to say "accursed" or something to that affect. And the word "gods" should be in quotation marks to show that it's not meant literally. So, while God himself might not take offence at that line, an English teacher might.

I don't know about 4/5 of mankind dying soon, but I do believe 4/5 of the Oceans inhabitants will. And everytime the creatures of the waters die off, the populations of humans dwindle thereafter.
We have underwater volcanism increasing and now that the North Atlantic Current is weakening and approaching a critical threshold and sea level's rising (all very true, see http://www.nature.com and click any of the articles)

And rising CO2 levels are making the oceans more acidic, which will kill off alot, including all coral if they aren't stopped.

Since when does CO2 make something more acidic? That is something we have not covered in my chemistry class...

Since when does CO2 make something more acidic?

Well... I know oxygen is considered a corrosive. Thus the rust that forms when you get some metals wet - The oxygen in the water comes out and eats away.

I'm not gonna pretend to know much about CO2, but it might be connected. *shrugs*

Sammy56
Dec 5th, 2005, 10:47 PM
Well, I looked it up and it turns out that when CO2 is dissolved in water it forms carbonic acid which is, obviously, acidic. I learned something! My day has finally been productive.

yeah, the carbonic acid breaks down the mineral structures in creatures like coral.

Ouch! Geez don't be so harsh man. Yeah I go to church but I'm not like some actress that plays in some horror film just to show off some skin. I would hardly believe it ALL I just like the people and think that it will keep at least some of humanity from going all crackers and getting a chainsaw and killing me. Plus my church doesn't have a preacher we all speak. It's not like the Bible says kill 4/5 of the world or anything. You are a very imaginative person if you think that's really gonna happen. Around 3/5 of its population is christian so how would that even work out? Yeah sure there are ways but none of them seem very likely.

If it does come to pass you will probably be one of the 1/5 that survives. Due to believing it. You should write a book like that. Really, even though you would probably be criticized for it I would really read it. It would be interesting. :headbang:
