Ok, well a while ago I mention this when it was just a rumor of what was "supposedly" going to happen. Well it appears it IS happeneing! Here is an article talking about what the internet companies/ISP'S are planning on doing to charge US for the amount of bandwith we use. We will be put in catagories! Yea, I was hearing about this a lot for a while but then all the commotion about it died out. This is going to suck.

If internet access becomes more expensive than it is currently, I could learn to live without it. I might even rediscover the lost art of letter writing. But it could negatively impact so many others -- students, small businesses, etc. -- I honestly hope nothing comes of this.

Hi, Tortoise, OG_Head, and Assassin X,

Hi hope it will not be bad news, for people that does'nt have that much of money,
I think internet is like a Mondial Library, And gives us the chance to know about all Currents events in any subjects. And a infinite knowlege of anything we want to know about.

I am juste starting to really have fun with it, i hope it will stay as it is now. But i dought it. I dont want to think about it right now, still i do

Thanks Assassin X For the link. C. :2thumbs:

3 things I wanted to say:

1. For someone like me, I am an adult but I still do two things. One of which is web sites for people. My income depends on the internet. If I have to pay for every MB of surfing then I am screwed! Because I constantly have to go to other peoples sites I am working on and update them, fix them...etc. Also its my income.

The other thing is I am a major gamer. Heck anyone that games knows the internet is the world when it coems to gaming! Getting info, savegames, cheat codes....etc comes from the internet! When it comes to computer games alot of MOD makers (people who modify games) only exist because they have the internet. And some of those peopel go on to sell there mods! 100,000's of people will be income-less without the net if its pay per bandwith kinda deal.

2. When it does come to this there is some hope. Since it won't be controlled by the goverment and by ISP's that means not EVERY ISP has to charge ULTRA amounts of money. People who think it should still be cheap to everyone can charge less and since no oen controls it then no one can tell them otherwise. The only problem with that is everyone will join those ISP's and probably overwhelm their servers causing them to raise prices to keep up their servers!

3. The realllyyyy bad part. Before this was known if it was going to happen people were saying that if the goverment handed over control the internets prices would be the least of peoples worries. Viruses, Malware, Adware. Trojans...etc they say will increase x10 in the first year alone with no one their to catch and stop makers of these things. Its a non policed "net".

It makes me wonder if I want to really keep the net anyways at that point? It will be so littered with damaging crap and horrible stuff that no one can control I don't really want that stuff getting on my pc! As it is software companies like Symantec and Mcaffe barley keep up with this stuff!

Wow, check this out. I was checking my EBAY account out and I got a message, obviously mass spread, from the president of EBAY about internet neutrality:

Heres the great link to that "Take Action" site, its really awsome!:

I guess the time is coming to fight back.
