Looks like saddam is going to be hung for crimes against humanity.
Iterestingly,he called on the Iraqi people to not retaliate against the U.S. occupying forces.Guess he wants to look like a martyre or somthing. As if he were a peaceful man,the history books will say other wise.

Can't wait to hear the hypocritical christians exclaiming their joy at his impending death...(the argument here is that the death penalty flaunts in the face of the teachings of Christ...)

hmm... for some reason I feel a tad... I don't know... it's not remorse... Saddam was a bastard, period... I guess it's just that his demise will be one more reminder to me that things change... Kind of like when Peter Jennings died. He was always there... and then, he was gone... same thing. Saddam has been there since I was very young, and now he's done for...

Lol. I wonder what Bono thinks about this...

You are right though CT. It is, I guess, the end of an era... or rather it will be when he actually passes (whether he is actually executed or gets life in prison, wait on the appeal). Then again, the guy did order the execution of children because he was pissed off. I think if anyone ever deserved the death penalty, he did.

you guys think some one might try to intervene i mean it is going to be in iraq, and if terrorists really wanna pisss off america why not steal saddam back, he treated his trial like it was a joke so i think he might have something up his sleeve.

I really couldn't be any happier. However, this makes me a bit nervous. If saddam dies, then comes back alive a few days later, then that means he is the antichrist... I don't remember where in the bible i read that the antichrist is going to die and come back claiming he is jesus, but i can't help but wonder...

Yeah, but if Saddam causes five random children to fight with the powers of Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, and Heart, that means he's Captain Planet. And let's face it, that's far worse. Better to kill him now to be sure.

It wont make any difference if hes dead you kill one another dictator is created history tells us this but they do fall.Iraq is now worse than when saddam was inpower why isnt bush and blair on the death penalty as london was attacked and muislims have become radicalised, persecuted thes small fry now. I dont condone what he did though, but what about soldiers who tortured iraqis we seem to forget that the western politicinas are just as bad as saddam for almost wiping out iraq at the beginning of the war are we any different?

Philosopher, that was hysterical! One of my good friends has the nickname of Captain Panic and to annoy him, another friend used to sing the Captain Planet theme song with Panic replacing Planet. Good times.

As for Saddam, I'm not sure how I feel. He was an evil man who caused the death of thousands of innocents and, as was said before, if anyone deserves the death penalty, he does. However, I still believe that the death penalty is wrong. Personally, I think he would suffer more with life in prison. By killing him, his followers can claim he was a martyr. With life in prison, it would be a bit more difficult to glorify his death.

He appealing isn't he when is he supposed to be hung?

Yes, I think there is an automatic appeal. If after that, the death penalty still stands, I believe he is to be hung within 60 days of the ruling. However, this appeal might take months.
