Why are we expected to help everyone?!?!?:
Everytime I watch the news some damn country, person, place, THING wants our help. And if we don't do it they bitch about it! WHAT THE HELL ARE WE? A cross guard that holds everyones hand?

One example is Darfur. I forgot which person, place, thing was whining about the US no helping. How much are we expected to do on this planet? Its like no matter what the US does no one is happy! We are spread so thin helping every little whiney place and person we don't have time for ourselves.... the people that need it!

Who gives a rats ass about other countries anymore! How many more years do we have to have homeless? How many more years do we have to have single moms that can't find their deadbeat husbands to get them to pay money? How many more years do we have to have disabled people that need money but can't work or get help because no one pays attention? How many years do seniors have to suffer because people won't help them? How many years do we have families not getting by because cost of living is just to much? Getting the drift?

This is why I am a cold heartless SOB. I don't care about starving, homeless, dying people a Darfur. Help me damn it, help my parents who aren't going to make ends meet yet again and have $30k in medical bills (filled bankruptcy once already from med bills). Help the guy down the street whos 61 and eating nothing but canned food because hes not important enough! I've been asking for help for 25 years and everyone ignores me.

"Hey look at the AIDS people, look at the CANCER people....oh.... disaster!......oh wait..... DARFUR".

ARGH!!! Hey look at the US! We need help damn it. :hater:

BTW I hate to sound totaly heartless. I act the opposite in real life...somewhat. But it seems no one helps anyone in the US. Everything is a fiasco here. I hate being stuck in a crack where no one helps me and I hate seeing all the "other" cracks people get stuck in then have to hear about everyone else wanting help ang getting it when no one can help their own in their own country. Its makes me wanna throw up. When I say "Others getting help" I mean foreign stuff or stuff like Cancer this or AIDS that.

Don't get me wrong its bad too but because I am one step below them or because any of us are does that mean we are not important? I could go blind but I guess thats the only way people will care. At that point then I'll get boohoos and a pity party. Exactly what I don't want. I want help now. No pity parties. No Boohoos.

Most of the reasoning behind it is the fact that the US has had its sticky little fingers in almost everything that has to do with world policy. Since the inception of the UN, the US has been the "guardian angel" (read pain in the ass older sibling) of the world. The world is so used to the US coming to the aid of this or that cause. I agree though, there are so many issues here that we need to clean up before we can go and clean some one elses house for them.

*nodnod* Raven's got it in one. Anyway, it'd be pretty disingenuous of us to whine about people asking for our help after we invaded Iraq "for their own good". Granted, I'm not real happy about either case, but the U.S. made its bed, and now it'll just have to lie in it.

U`ll be asking for help when the 8.3 trillion dollars debt makes itself evident. BTW a trillion = 1000 Billions
