PLEASE don't turn this into a pout fest becasue that not what it is meant to be. I sit here at the age of 16 realizing, that im 1/4 of the way trough my life and it has flown past! why is life so short? ive realized that all I really need in life is my family and friends. but I feel like ive done NOTHING. I want to go skydiving, I want to travel, I want kids NOW so I can have more time to spend with them. I feel like ive wasted 11 years in school and im not looking forward to wasting the rest of my life working. I wish we could be without money, so that we could just spend our lives doing what we want. I was sitting in my room and for the first time sence I was a little boy I accually cried. It took my by complete shock. I just want more time to spend with my family but I can't have it. I guess the best way to look at is that you need to CHERISH each moment you have. I just maybe would like everyone to step back and look at there lives and realize how lucky they are to have people in there lives that are important to them.

Ha, IVe had the same thoughts but ive never cried... i do get a strange feeling that everything I do is pointless... Thats why when I do things i want to excel in them so people remember.. me and im not just going to fade away like the rest .
Basically the best thing to do is leave a big mark so you are never forgotten, so easily or something like that.

4 x 16 = 64
Add another 20 years on that since the 80 range has become the average time of death.
Don't get worried (you're abit prone to that from what I've seen) about that at your age... see it as an advantage since you've got sooooooo long. Or atleast you hope you have that long. Everyone here is a pessimist and proud of it! :2thumbs:

Im ussually not suceptible to being worried, im accualy a very happy go lucky person, but the last week or so somthing has been wrong with me... every time I try and sleep i just start thinking about different things, my death, my family, the universe, and my future and I just cant sleep. no sleep = tired, tired = depressed, depressed=more bad thoughs. its a vicious cycle! =P

Obviously the age for a mid-life crisis has dropped considerably :D
Dude, ya just need to think of how better your life life is compared to the millions who are starving, suffering, struggling around the world ..... put things in to perspective and be grateful for what you do have and not lament what you don't .....
Make a point of doing something for someone else today, nothing big or flamboyant you'll feel better for it. This is really the only thing that gives some value to your live in the long run.

I felt like that a little bit ago. Life seems to go by soooo fast. But I've started to think of it differently; instead of trying to hold on to it, I've started to just enjoy the ride. Although I still find myself trying to hold on, the more I let go and just flow, the more connected to it that I feel... well, that's my two cents...

Now thats a great way to send your years, releasing as much anger as possible once in a while! :headbang:
Also sleep less... apparently the less you sleep the longer you live, the REAL healthy amount being 4 hours (not 6 - 8).
Is that right? man I'll live to be a hundred, I can't sleep more than 4 hours... shit I thought it would kill me!

Not to disappoint shortround, but everything I find points to the fact that lack of sleep can cause an early death either because your increased risk of accidents when you haven't had enough sleep or the damage chronic lack of sleep does to your body.

Personaly I would hate to live forever. It might be nice for a while, gathering knowledge, finding the unified theory of the universe and all, but after that it would be exceptionaly boring.

Look, I told the insurance company the tree jumped in front of my car, it was not due to lack of sleep...

4 hours is slightly overdone (but still mentioned), 6 is about right.

But of course this is at home... lack of sleep while driving or in work with hazards is bad and yes, probably cause death lol! But your natural bodily functions (eg heart and lungs) benefit. But don't cocky, these are averages, you could have a healthy body and so sleep 9 hours in theory.

What if sleeping longer does shorten your life ..... but at the same time makes you more creative and imaginative due to dreaming and possibly sharpens the mind as your brain has had more time to assimilate what you learned while you were awake etc etc .....
In which case I'd rather live a shorter life where I'm smart and creative ..... than live a longer life where I am the opposite !! :D

Well, I can see both sides to the sleep argument. Sleep is like food. Too much or too little of either can be dangerous and even deadly.
