With all those new years promises I started to think of things I always wanted to do in life.
So i decided too write down a list of things I am going to do before I die.
Watch or even climb an erupting volcano.
Watch an total eclipse of the sun.
Watch an tornado.
Learn to para sail.
Watch real wild wolves.
Take an night flight over an mayor city during new year. And watch the fireworks from above.
Learn Kendo.
Learn Russian.
write a book or make an movie about natures wonders.
Write an novel.
So what plans do you have for life??? :2thumbs:

Cool thread lycanox!
Go to Rome and see all the ancient ruins
Learn to speak Italian
Become a citizen of at least one other country
See the Northern Lights
Go scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef
Go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Get my Ph.D.
Discover a new element
Experience zero-gravity
Watch an tornado. I promise if you pay a visit here during the first two weeks of May, you will not be disappointed.

So what plans do you have for life??? :2thumbs:
well here's a few things i have done so far...
walked 1000 miles of the AT.
went to europe 3 times for two years, learned to juggle, thumbed and train hopped most of the the time.
drank well water from the temple of poseidon ruins in athens... fell in the well while drunk.
crossed a romanian border without showing i.d.; spent three nights in military jail upon leaving.
got beat twice with billy clubs by the police in athens.
got escorted off of a romanian train by machine gun totting police for having a stitched up passport.
lived one month in the german alps.
got drunk and jumped in a river canal with alligators.
got caught in a metal canoe in a lightning storm for half an hour on the river in florida with my oldest daughter who was 4 at the time.
went mushroom hunting in the forests of norway... ate mushrooms that were glowing green and got real messed up for the evening.
i ran down the service walk between two subway stations in wein; with the trains passing.
got lost in venice by making 4 left turns... slept on scaffolding, woke up to a screaming italian woman.
trained martial arts for 8 years.
drew a maze and sold 2000 poster prints to college bookstores.
currently writing a book of thoughts.
chased a black bear with a walking stick.
self taught myself mycology... still alive after 6 years... no unintentional poisonings. :2thumbs:
got drunk and jumped into the freezing, raging, alpine river that speeds through salzburg, austria... three times in one day.
was drunk on st. paddy's day in galway and walked into a moving van... this was after juggling in the parade earlier in the day. i believe this was the first time i saw a whole city get shitfaced.
walked face first into a nest of whiteface hornets...
got thrown out of austria for 10 years...

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uki, your life must be very fun...
-Go to Jerusalem/Israel and see what all the fuss is about; walk Jesus' alleged path of crucifixion...
(also ancient Roman sites; also Stonehenge [if they let you... well, even if they don't...; also North and South Pole...also visit China and India to see ancient Hindu/Buddhist holy sites/ statues, etc...)
-Attend or teach at either an Ivy league school; or Oxford.
-Spend a few years learning Bujinkan from Masaaki Hatsumi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masaaki_Hatsumi)'s school...
-Get a Ph.D (or two... if I'm lucky...)
-Write a book (in the long line of layman science books- with the intent of promoting it to the masses and such...)
-Be close enough to a tornado to throw a rock into it...(hey, it could happen...just a little further (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otZR3VTh4Vo)...)
-Deep sea scubadive...
-Fly an airplane...
-Help contribute to some worthwhile discovery...
-Buy a house next to a tropical beach/ build a castle in Scottland...
-Walk to Canada...
-See the Northern lights (and go on a mock expedition "to" them- as some poor ill-fated man no doubt did some thousands of years ago...)
-(and this one's a little far fetched...) Find some way to prove that the modern interpretation of quantum mechanics is off, and that Einstein's was closest to the truth (with help of course) [of course, as soon as I get more educated on the matter, I will no doubt let this fantasy pass along with Santa and his deers and all that...]
- Leave the atmosphere (or in the very least... see what it's like, like Sammy's wish-list... zero gravity...- a cheap consolation prize, though...)
- Find a "soul-mate" to experience life and then die with...
- Find out the meaning of life, the universe and everything...
- Punch God in the face...
- Make peace with God, hehe
- Create an Institution of higher learning...
- Make my grave site an audio-visual masterpiece, with full screen biographies, glowing blue light around the headstone, bag pipes at the funeral, all that jazz...
- Fake my death so I can see this awesome funeral/memorial..
- Ride off into the sunset...

Personal things I want to do:
- Save someone (I know thats more a sudden moment type thing though)
- Get drunk (which is funny since I don't drink so this will be hard lol)
- See real life death (for the obvious sake, maybe an execution)
- Make a large donation (want to contribute something atleast)
- Learn to fly (like as others here have said)
- Get into a fight against my twin brother and win (no more being in the same league hehehe)
- Learn another language (probably something European)
Places I want to go:
- New Zealand (its like the UK but on the other side of the world)
- The Amazon (see it while I can... sadly)
- The USA (same as why many Americans want to see Europe)
- Antartica (I'm not sure why either)

I got some good ideas for some characters and the first chapters. Something about an girl that turns into an wolf and has to make an journey to the end of the world for an cure. But I don't have an clue how to continue the story. But at least it is in process.:w00t: I might change this in an web comic if my drawing skills speeds up.

I would like to be there when Shortrounds Home for Orphans in Sri Lanka is shut down, as at that time there will BE no more orphans because technonlogy has eliminated starvation and AIDS and the world has finally realized what a massive Ass Clown it's been for thousands of years and finally unites in peace.
Of course, that is one hell of a lofty goal...dependent on the return of Jesus...
So play B is to win the Nobel Prize for Physics or Mathematics and donate the One Million Dollars to Shortround's orphanage.

I would like to:
- Travel Europe and eat all kinds of cheese, bread, meat and chocolate and drink beer while visiting my favourite castles and other historical sites.
- Get accepted into the Canadian/Swedish Work Exchange, work for Ikea in Sweden, design some products for Ikeas design companies, marry a tall, good looking, funny and intelligent Swedish guy, get dual citizenship and have kids.
- Learn to fly.
I've got goals :P

Hmmm, this is an interesting thread. I guess my goals in life are:
Buy a very expensive engagement ring today
Marry the girlfriend (fiancée!)
Have a kid or a few - haven't decided
Buy a house
Actually stay in a job for more than 2 years
Complete 6 generations of my family tree
Work with animals (may clash with my 5th point)
Go to America for a holiday
Do one of those DNA genealogy tests
Teach my dog not to biteFailing some of the above, I might have to resort to my second life plan:
Join a hippy commune
Become self sufficient
wage war on the 'money god'
Build my own shelter
Bath in, drink from and generally use a stream
Reject modern societyIf I suddenly stop posting then you'll know that plan 2 has had to kick in.

Well in the mean time its happening, we bought the land, and are waiting for permits. The whole project won't cost over 65,000, and a running cost of 70 dollars a month for 8 kids! thats nothing compared to the rest of the world. In fact my retirement money would more than cover the running costs, the average monthly wage is about 100 bucks. IF, and thats a big if... the permits come through by Dec. we should be building by April. and up and running by June.

Are you serious! Rock on dude!
Here's hoping.
I like how our people are trying to reach out. We have SR with the potential orphanage, Laz with his site for troubled kids, and certainly more that I have not mentioned or more to come.
Seriously, way to go SR!

Great News SR, you will have to keep us posted with some pictures.
MapMan... getting down on one knee... TAKES a man to do that.
My goals, to retire soon and go in to teaching in a high risk school. Hopefully with in the next 3 years. Debating if I should start taking the classes to teach now, will take 2 years, or to do the accerlated plan and start teaching while taking the classes. Donno, :dunno: it kind of depends on when the spouse is up for retirement too. He can in 3 years for sure so either way, I may soon be a teacher...
I bet that throws you all for a loop huh?

Since its a year ago that i started this. I might update this now as well.
* Watch or even climb an erupting volcano.
* Watch an total eclipse of the sun.
* Watch an tornado.
No update here.
* Learn to para sail.
Completed this summer.
* Watch real wild wolves.
There are plans for a large nature park which will contain wolves near us . So this one is back on track for now.
* Take a night flight over an mayor city during new year. And watch the fireworks from above.
No update here.
* Learn Kendo.
I have delayed this one to get into shape first. And i might need the money later when i move out.
Learn Russian.
Scrapped. Must have been some temporal fluke back then.
* write a book or make an movie about natures wonders.
I wrote some articles about stuff earlier for school. But I still have to start on this one.
* Write a novel.
As anyone that sometimes visits the AO writers section can see.
I am working on it.
Aldo its currently on hiatus. But i am using the time now to improve on my drawing skills.
So it might turn in a web comic today.

I want to go to Russia and volunteer in an orphanage or daycare; or teaching small children.
It will cost me about 3,000 for travel expenses, room, board, and medical insurance. If I remember correctly, that is for 3 months.
It would be a good way for me to get out of the country and into another one- I have never traveled outside of America, and to do so the first time and be close to other people who speak English should help; plus Ill be doing something worthwhile.
I've always kind of been attracted to Russia.

Yes I will leave for one day and think of what it said.....on the Bible
2 Timothy 4:3
3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.
UNLOCK all the secrets and mysteries in this WORLD through all gathered data and code
Mmmm....The answer is in the BIBLE also
the human brain is amazing but you got to always screw your brain tighten you might get insane or overwhelm in all we/you learn.
synchronizing in the flow of nature our life stream makes us understand everything but unexplainable because there is a human error, It can be explained by who? .... Daniel 12:9-10 Mark 4:11-12 Ecle 7:16-17 Rev 1:3

Don't know why ya'll want to see a tornado..but then again, I have seen one, and it was some seriously scary shit. I was driving along route 62 up to Muskogee when I noticed how bad the weather had gotten, but was no place near any storm cellers so just kept driving, and totally freaked out when I saw lightning strike the tree to my left, and thank God we drive on the right side of the road, cus the tree would have been right on top me if that hadn't been the case, and I still had to swerve to avoid it. Then looked to my left again, and saw a tornado touch down, spiral, then go right back up, and the whole thing took less than a minute. Got to Muskogee, but I was for sure pretty shook up. Got confimation that there were others who had seen that one, prolly a farmer or someone just livin out in the sticks cus I was the only car I saw for a while. Was an F-0 but I never want to see anything bigger, that is for damn sure!
There are only three things I want to do in my life: make sure my kids are set when going through college, and help them where I can. Right my autobiography, then fictionalize it and try to get it published as a novel. Move to Negril.

Things I am going to do with my life?
My primary goal is to have my parents live peaceful lives before they die for all the **** they had to give up...etc having a disabled child. It may not be my fault but still imagine being young then having the rest of your life robbed of lots of things that could have been because an unexpected thing happened with your child. No matter what a parent says about "We wouldn't change a thing" I know they still would want some damn comfort at some point and not half to worry about crap.
My secondary goal. Not sharable on here.
Third is easy. NEVER lose my morals. Such I I love to help people, I try to be nice, make good decisions, not be materialistic, have no lust for money...etc. If you start losing your morals then its hard to turn back. Such as my friend who is more into materialistic things. Doesn't get things like not needing a $200,000 car or a $15,000 tv or a $5,000 suit. Lame.
