Nerdy question here: what type of processor do you like best? You get 100 punds if you reply!

I don't want to add more weight in my pocket... :strt:
AMD, I consider a better processor for games. BUt on other hand, Intel is good for home server which I have it running. Just to be robust in power and performance.

I use think Pentiums, then thought AMD but now I Intel for new system I am building this summer (if I can afford it) is going to have dual-core processors and dual video cards.

Well I fried my old laptop last night, so I put myself in debt (again) and popped for a Sony VAIO with duo core and 1GB ram, it seems to run a LOT cooler than my Toshiba. I'm still putting in some extra program stuff, so I can't really evaluate its stuff yet.

I just busted a toshiba laptop- only mine was win 3.1 so i guess it was kinda beyond its times anyway...Oh yeah- who just voted the final option?
Mine was 3 years old and ran 24/7 I ended up with a huge cooling fan to keep from shutting down every hour..... fact i couldn't even run a PDF file.
BTW I haven't voted yet...ha

I wasn't accusing u, mate.
PDF? Blimey o'reilly- i thought mine was bad running on 512k of mem- but at least it had a half-decent fan. Mine only died cos i thought id be clever and mucked about with the logical partitions and ended up fluffing the hdd- but i am only 104 so cut me some slack!:alcoholic

Yeah I know, I didn't vote cuz my processor isn't listed...HA HA
I think my fan was just to light for the unit, but will see how warm this Sony gets after a few hours....

Intel core duo T2300/1.66GHz its supposed to run much cooler (so they say). I'm gonna run some heavy graphics for a while and see how warm it gets...I got some old GPS maps, that should be a good test, they would flat cook my Toshiba.

Lol- if i wanna fry a machine i just feed it ship simulator 2006- that rhing asks for 4 ghz and over 500mb ram whilst running. My athlon dual core just dosnt get hot! Hell, im wearing coats in my room now! I tuned of smart fan so it forever runs fast SO it warms up!
