so ufc 68 will be coming up on march 3rd. the big event will be tim silvia defending his title against captain america randy couture. finally tim will have a real fight and everyone will see what i've known all along, TIM SILVIA IS NOT A FIGHTER. i've been waiting to see tim get his a$$ kicked sinse he got the belt back, and now it will finally happen. also are the comeback fights for matt hughes and rich franklin. i think franklin is going to have his hands full with jason mcdonald, matt is going against chris lytle, i hope chris wins but matt will probably be pretty hungry after his loss to gsp, so he might just roll right over lytle. but than again after such an embarassing loss to gsp, matt hughes' confidence might have suffered a blow, i guess we'll just have to wait and see. so you guys have any predictions?

Captain America Randy Couture... hahaha
I hate Couture, always have, and I don't even know why.

I know you hate Silvia, and tons of people do, But he's so enteraining to watch! I actually like the guy. He doesn't look like a fighter, and he doesn't "act" like a fighter, but he gets the job done. And like I said before, he has been practicing his Sprawling and shit, so he might stand a chance against Couture. As long as he uses his Size advantage properly (His tall stance helps him avoid take downs), and avoids taking head-shots from Cap then he should be fine.
Either way though, should be a good fight.

I like Jason McDonald, good ol' Canadian Fighter. Everybody under estimated this guy for his first couple of UFC fights, and he did great. I hope he busts up Franklins face a bit.

I hate Chris Lytle... I used to really like Matt Hughs, for his size he's "huge" (you know what I mean, the dude is pure muscle) and he definately knows how to fight. I like when he gets pissed off trying to take somebody down so he just picks the person up and slams them. He should be able to tune this Lytle guy.

Lytle got smoked in his last fight, didn't he?

my whole problem with silvia is that 1.) he never intended to be a fighter, pat miletich saw a big oaf walking down the street and asked him if he ever thought about fighting, 2.) he's been busted for steroids, 3.) for his size and advantages he can't dominate, he doesn't stop anyone in their tracks, he couldn't knock down cabbage(but than again who can?) he couldn't finish monson, he should've stomped arlovski the last time but was too timid. i just don't think he deserves the title. and yeah i'm not much of a fan of randy but i think he will give silvia his first real challenge. and if randy can't stop him mirko definitely will, he will be getting a title shot real soon.

as far as mcdonald/ franklin, my money's on mcdonald. i hope franklin's nose has healed if not he might need some major work after this fight. that might be all it takes, if mcdonald can hit that nose again, it might really mess with franklin.

and for lytle yeah he lost his a$$ during the ultimate fighter show, i think they just want an easy fight for their poster boy matt hughes. the ufc loves him soooo much it makes me sick. but yeah matt should probably win this one, that way it will set things up for the gsp rematch. gsp will beat matt sera in april, than in about june or july we'll see matt hughes/ gsp 3.

well it finally happened! tim sylvia has gotten what he deserved. randy couture is the new ufc heavy weight champ. after dominating tim from the ground in the first two rounds and pummeling him in the striking game in round three and than just more domination in rounds four and five, randy has shown what a man can do when he is completely determined. it was a storybook ending. never during the entire fight did tim have a chance. this was one of the greatest ufc's i've seen.

as for the other fights, jason lambert takes out babaloo sobral with a devasting knockout punch in the second round. babaloo had a chance to end it in the first but ran out of time. lambert came back and won via ko.

matt hughes wins against lytle. lytle put up more of a fight than i was thinking he would, but it still wasn't enough. the fight lasted all three rounds with judges giving it to hughes unanimously.

franklin also wins his comeback fight against mcdonald. franklin showed his amazing striking skills and comes away with the win after mcdonald was unable to continue after the second round. franklin had gained the mount position and was delivering some devastating punches to mcdonalds head. seconds before the bell franklin was looking towards the ref hoping for a stoppage, but the bell rang and the ref signaled the ned of the round. mcdonald was having a difficult time getting back to his corner after the pounding and his corner ended the fight. mcdonald had shown promise but it seemed that nerves might have gotten the best of him. franklin with a tko victory at the end of the second round. he will be fighting silva for his rematch in cinncinati in the future.

newcommer martin kampmann showing his submission skills against drew mcfedries, who was punching the hell out of kampmann and almost got a ko win. however kampmann comes back and gets the takedown and reverses and sinks in an arm triangle choke for the win.

also i didn't get to see it but matt hamill, the deaf fighter from the show, wins his fight against rex holman via strikes in the first round.

next up will be ufc 69, shootout. this will be the fight between gsp and matt sera. my moneys on gsp. also fighting will be diego sanchez against josh koscheck(diego already beat his a$$ once, he better do it again, i hate koscheck). mike swick, kendal grove and heath "oops i f*cked up my ufc debute" herring will all have fights as well.
