  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: Disney / Warner Brothers - Banned Cartoons

***These are often removed all over the web due to claims by WB Disney... etc. I do have the files, so if youtube / google video is removed a request to view them can be made. The YOUTUBE / GOOGLE videos are all working, and the download option will be password protected unless they are removed*** Some of you may remember seeing these before, some of you may not even know they exist. A member a long time ago uploaded them to our server. In the midst of controversial topics, I figured I would re-post them.... and hopefully I won't have to remove them. Basically they are propaganda films, using childrens' cartoon characters. Looking back they're outright racist, stereotypical, biased.... etc etc. It also shows how the times have changed. Do you think Spongebob would ever make fun of the arabs :) You have to remember these were the 40's through 60's.... they didn't have cable networks and the likes of southpark. Anyhoo I'm rambling.... basically I just wanted to re-post these and get some thoughts. ...

  1. What's your favourite film?

Lot's of great ones. I love The Godfather, Fight Club, The Matrix, Terminator 2 and loads more. If I had to choose one it'd be Se7en. It's brilliantly scripted and acted, and it has a fantastic twist.

  4. Exclamation The Beast Movie 6/6/06

The Beast is currently in pre-production. The cast and crew are legally sworn to secrecy. The theory that Jesus Christ never existed, while largely unknown to most lay Christians, is gaining credibility among scholars. Historians do not consider the Gospels to be historically accurate accounts. The authors of the Gospels, writing 40 to 90 years after the supposed life of Christ, never intended for their works to be read as biographies. There are no credible non-Christian references to Christ during the period in which he is said to have lived. Watch the Trailer Here: http://www.thebeastmovie.com/index.html

  7. Space Cadets

Any UK viewers been watching Space Cadets? This is the most entertaining programme I've seen for years. For those who haven't heard about it, "Space Cadets" is a Channel 4 show in which three people are led to believe that they have been launched into space as the first British space tourists. They received ten days' training in Russia before being put onto a "shuttle" last Monday. They have somehow been convinced that there are gravity generators on board, which is why they aren't weightless. They are actually in a simulator in an ex-military hangar in England. A screen twenty metres across shows a computer generated image of the Earth. A fourth astronaut, plus the pilot and the commander are all actors. Today the contestants "return" and are told the terrible truth. Can't wait. http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/S/spacecadets/

  8. Eleventh Hour - Patrick Stewart's real accent?

Eleventh Hour. ITV 1. Thursday 11.05pm. (UK) Here Patrick Stewart slips in a mild version of his real accent. Or rather, tries to. It's been so long since he used it. It starts somewhere around Watford then gradually moves north, through Stoke and West Yorkshire, waves a tentacle at Skipton before settling uncertainly around Barnsley (via California). The story centres around a load of cloned foetuses found in a field, and a pregnant woman (there's a connection there I'm sure). We know one of the characters (a geordie) is a bad-un when we see her "smurkin taabs" in a maternity ward. Stewart's accomplice, a female police officer, improbably carries a gun. The script is funny and the production values are high for a British effort. Slightly too glum. But yes, I'll be watching the next episode.

  9. Anime

Well, favourite anime series is the subject. Name and reason why: 1. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: Great story, excellent drawings but foremost thrilling and ensuring display of the characters emotions. A masterpiece 2. Chobits: A boy meets girl story with an extreme twist. Mysterious, explorative and purely joyful. Could be the description of both the main female character (Chii) and the series itself. 3. Bleach: Ever wondered what the definition of "cool" is? Well, stop wondering, Bleach is here. Swordplay, demons and humorous high-school-life. Makes Pokémon pee it's pants.

  16. The Core

Saw the Core at the weekend. Has any one else seen it? Is it me, or is it a very BAD film? (BAD as in not good - for all those US folks reading this?) I was very disappointed and I just wanted to sound off. Don't go and see it if you have an ounce of intelligence - a small child could see through the plot errors!:o

  17. Stargate SG1 and Atlantis

Ok so I am a little bit behind the times but I just got hooked on these 2 shows this past season. It was Stargate Atlantis which originally caught my attention. Started to watch the Friday Night SciFi channel line up and now I cannot get enough of the original Stargate SG1 series. I ask... Any other Stargate fans out there?

  19. Sin City

Anyone see Sin City? I loved the visuals, really stunning! Robert Rodriguez is one of my favorite directors. He wanted the author Frank Miller as co-director. When the DGA (Directors Guild of America) said no, he jumped ship and gave up all the perks (including being barred from Oscar nomination) because he wasnt going to compromise the film or Miller. See more here.... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401792/ The official site... http://video.movies.go.com/sincity/
