  1. Post Giant Sun Eruption Captured in NASA Video

The sun unleashed a monster eruption of super-hot plasma Friday (Nov. 16) in back-to-back solar storms captured on camera by a NASA spacecraft. The giant sun eruption, called a solar prominence, occurred at 1 a.m. EST (0600 GMT), with another event flaring up four hours later. The prominences was so large, it expanded beyond the camera view of NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), which captured high-definition video of the solar eruption (http://www.space.com/18528-sun-unleashes-monster-prominence-video.html).In the video, a colossal loop of glowing red plasma erupts from the lower left of the sun, arcing up and out of frame as it blasts away from the star. 2. Post Another Front Yard Garden Deemed Illegal

The War on Americanism is moving forward again, not on some foreign battlefield, but in quiet neighborhoods in cities across the nation. The City of Orlando is demanding that Jason Helvingston eradicate the vegetable garden planted in his front yard so that it can meet their code, which WKMG Local 6 (http://www.clickorlando.com/news/College-Park-man-fights-to-keep-vegetable-garden-in-front-yard/-/1637132/17319262/-/14pb6cjz/-/index.html) says requires a “finished appearance,” in other words, a plain lawn covered in ordinary grass. It is a matter of perceived property value versus that of property rights, the latter of which is clearly under attack. Helvingston hasn’t given up. He told the city, ‘You’ll take my house before you take my vegetable garden. Read More...

  3. Post Parts of New York City Descending into Absolute Chaos

FEMA, the federal agency who’s responsible for responding to natural disasters and emergencies, apparently can’t figure out how to respond to anything. Over a week after Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast, the agency is still having trouble providing basic emergency supplies and shelter to the affected area. And now to add insult to injury, FEMA has actually had to shut down emergency relief shelters due to a snow storm that just hit the area.Is this really what America voted for? We spend billions of dollars a year on this agency and they can’t even handle the one thing their supposed to be able to do; respond to an emergency situation. Read More...

  4. Post 35% Of Americans Would Wear

A survey commissioned by Infowars and conducted by Harris Interactive has found that 35% of American adults would be willing to wear an electric shock bracelet in order to fly, another startling example of how many Americans are willing to give up their rights in the name of safety. The idea of mandating travelers wear an electric shock bracelet sounds like something out of a dystopian sci-fi movie, but the proposal was seriously considered and very nearly implemented by the Department of Homeland Security back in 2008.As the video below highlights, not only would the bracelets have been used to deliver incapacitating electric shocks to suspected terrorists, they would also have contained tracking technology to spy on the wearer. 5. Post Advice to the Would be Survivalist - by SurvivingSurvivalism

Nine out of ten people we've met who expressed an interest in being a survivalist or prepper, frankly, did not know their own mind. Like at the poker table, to win you must either be all in, or don't bother playing. You can't get to home plate if you keep one foot on third base. Read More...

  6. Post Sandy-torn northeast deals with more wind, snow

The nor'easter that interrupted recovery efforts from Superstorm Sandy is pulling away from New York and New Jersey, and is making its way into New England. In its wake is a blanket of thick, wet snow that snapped storm-weakened trees and downed power lines from Brooklyn to storm-battered sections of the Jersey shore and Connecticut. Households that waited for days without power because of Sandy were plunged back into darkness in temperatures near freezing. However, roads in New Jersey are clear for the morning commute, and rail lines into New York City are running smoothly so far. Read More...

They fly into disaster areas, but flee from raindrops.FEMA disaster recovery centers in Hurricane Sandy-ravaged sections of the city that were supposed to provide assistance to hurricane victims went MIA Wednesday morning, posting signs saying that they were closed due to the approaching Nor'easter. The temporary shuttering of the facilities, which help victims register for disaster relief, as well as city food distribution centers come even as many of those still reeling from the monster storm were not told that they had to leave the battered areas. A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Guatemala on Wednesday morning, killing at least 39 people, according to the country's president.Otto Pérez Molina told a news conference not all the deaths had been confirmed, but witnesses reported seeing people buried in some of the 30 houses that collapsed in the town of San Marcos, near the north-western border with Mexico, where most of the damage was reported. The quake, which was about 20 miles deep and centred 15 miles off the coastal town of Champerico and about 100 miles south-west of Guatemala City, shook buildings as far away as Mexico City and El Salvador. 10. Post Gun Stocks Surge After Obama Re-Election

On a day when the Dow Jones Industrial Average has plummeted by over 200 points, gun stocks have bucked the trend and are surging as fears over an Obama lame duck second term eviscerating second amendment rights take hold. Both Smith Wesson and Ruger saw their stock price shoot up this morning when virtually everyone else was in the red. Read More...

  11. Post Winter Storm Athena Forecast Impacts - Complete Breakdown

As of early Wednesday morning, roughly 676,000 were still without power in the Northeast. This is a remarkable drop from the peak of roughly 8.6 million one week ago. Sadly, 112 have been confirmed dead from Sandy in the U.S., including Puerto Rico. Now, Winter Storm Athena, a nor'easter, is poised to bring yet more high winds, rain, coastal flooding, even snow to parts of the Northeast. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for sections of Brick Township in New Jersey - residents living low lying waterfront areas are asked to take shelter by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Read More...

  12. Post 7 Technologies That Will Make It Easier for the President to Hunt and Kill You

Robotic assassination campaigns directed from the Oval Office. Cyber espionage programs launched at the president's behest. Surveillance on an industrial scale. But a new wave of technologies, just coming online, could give those powers a substantial upgrade. 14. Post Fed Report: 100% Chance of Recession - Mac Salvo

Now that the election is over, the propaganda media can back off the burying of those critical stories that they couldn’t be bothered to report in the lead up to the re-election of President Obama. What are we talking about? For starters, the Federal Reserve’s recent report, which received nary a comment from the political and financial pundits on television. While the economy was on the minds of most voters last night, what they didn’t know may have very well swung the election to one candidate over another. Read More...

  16. Post Preparing with Special Circumstances in Mind

Regardless of how badly we wish our survival situations were picture perfect, they aren’t. Not all of us are healthy, 20-something year old males, with military experience and no children to care for. The fact of the matter is that most of us deal with some special circumstance that should be included in our survival preparations. So here’s some food for thought while keeping those things in mind. 17. Post Good News Everyone! Nor'easter to weaken!

Weather experts had good news for beleaguered northeast coastal residents Tuesday: A new storm that threatened to complicate Hurricane Sandy cleanup efforts on Wednesday now looks like it will be weaker than expected. As the storm moves up the Atlantic coast from Florida it now is expected to veer farther offshore than earlier projections had indicated. Jeff Masters of the private weather service Weather Underground says that means less wind and rainfall on land.Even so, he said winds could still gust to 50 mph in New York and New Jersey Wednesday afternoon and evening. 18. Post Sandy Price Gouging Probed: $7 Loaf of Bread, $10 Box of Matches

More than 400 possible cases of price gouging of gasoline and other essentials, including a $10 box of matches and $7 loaf of bread, have been reported in New York before and after Sandy.Reports are being investigated in New York City, the Hudson Valley and on Long Island by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.Schneiderman said Monday that he's investigating an increasing number of reports of spikes in prices for essential goods including gasoline, food, bottled water, generators, batteries and flashlights. The probe can include sharp, unwarranted increases in the cost of prices by retailers including supermarkets, hardware stores, bodegas, delis, hotels and taxis, he said. Read More...

  19. Post How I Hacked An Electronic Voting Machine

Roger Johnston is the head of the Vulnerability Assessment Team at Argonne National Laboratory. Not long ago, he and his colleagues launched security attacks on electronic voting machines to demonstrate the startling ease with which one can steal votes. Even more startling: Versions of those machines will appear in polling places all over America on Tuesday. The touchscreen Diebold Accuvote-TSX will be used by more than 26 million voters in 20 states; the push-button Sequoia AVC Voting Machine will be used by almost 9 million voters in four states, Harper’s magazine reported recently (http://harpers.org/archive/2012/11/how-to-rig-an-election/) (subscription required). Here, Johnston reveals how he hacked the machines--and why anyone, from a high-school kid to an 80-year-old grandmother, could do the same.--Ed Read More...

  20. Post NY Freeze :

First the flood, now the freeze (and the lack of fuel and gas and heating just making it much worse). And for tens of thousands of residents of New York and New Jersey this means that as many as 40,000 will need to find alternative housing, especially ahead of Wednesday when a Nor’easter formation is expected to hit the Tristate area and bring even more freezing rain and cold to the region. From Reuters: “Tens of thousands of people affected by superstorm Sandy could soon need housing as cold weather descends on the state of New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday. Cuomo, in a televised press conference nearly a week after the storm hit the U.S. East Coast, said the fuel shortages are improving but problems will persist for “a number of days.” Elsewhere, and also from Reuters: “Victims of superstorm Sandy on the U.S. East Coast struggled against the cold early on Sunday amid fuel shortages and power outages even as officials fretted about getting voters...
