Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... remember that before you flame me for this. This board has some very colorful characters.... messiahs, prophets, militants, and everything in between. I thought it would be fun to post pics of how I think some of you look based on avatar, sig, location, and/or general style. Please add your own, but this is not meant to be insulting or mean spirited... just having some fun with the people I read from everyday! old dragon

  8. Sticky Thread Sticky: AO New Words Dictionary

I loved this idea and since I also like to make up words (but naturally can't think of one atm) I thought I'd kick it off. Add your own as you come across them. :-) From Freaked Out: Turnoffable: (Noun) meaning: The ability of a thing or person to be turned off. Applications in technical terminalology as well as blind dates. (turnoffablish: pertaining to or ability to be turned off - largely a female trait) Turnoffabling: (Verb) meaning: The process of making an thing or person to be turned off. Uses in technical terminalogy....and blind dates. (Except I'm not so sure "turnoffable" would be a noun? The ability to be turned off, or to turn others off... well maybe that is a noun... hmmm.... state of being... yeah OK) From Mez:

  9. Sticky Thread Sticky: AO Photo Gallery

I removed the original thread because it was just a mesh of photos of inanimate objects and places. This new version is a little more strict, but is based off the original thread. Give a new dimension to AO by sharing photos of yourself and/or family. Please do not enter photos that are of places/sites or objects. Only pictures of yourself and/or family (family is optional). Here are some of mine to start off with.

  1. New Disney Attraction

LAKE BUENA VISTA – Walt Disney World’s new controversial exhibit called “Up Your Ass” opened Thursday in spite of protests from conservative groups who believe the exhibit is a departure from the family friendly rides and exhibits they are famous for. Disney spokesman Al Hardon said that Disney hasn’t had any educational or informational exhibits in a long time. He defended the title of the ride as recommended by Disney’s 95% homosexual staff. Disney consulted proctologists for the ride and some experts say that the smell and texture is very accurate. Disney will be focusing more exhibits and rides on educational themes in the coming years. Hardon went on to say a new attraction; Felatio Land opens next summer, replacing Frontier Land.

  2. Opinions on my idea

I had this idea and wanted to know what some of you thought about it. I have always been intrigued in certain crafts, or trades linked to how early settlers used to do things. One of my interests is soap making, although I admit that I haven't gone so far yet as to get into it to make my own, but the recipe is quite simple. Anyway, a lye is used and combined with fats to create soap. One source of lye is to strain ashes, like those you would find after a campfire. This got me thinking, and yes, the Nazi's tried it using bodily human fats during the final solution, but it was too cost prohibitive so I have heard; but do you think people would buy soap made from extracting potash lye from their loved ones ashes. I think it is a good marketing idea to take an urn full of ashes and create lye to make soap tailored with oils and fragrance that remind those "left behind" of the departed ones. I know it sounds silly as hell, but if people will buy a casket painted with the band Kiss on it, they...

  3. What is this? (map thing)

I've been puzzled for over a year about this. At first I thought it was a building, then a alien ship (hehehe) then I found at google maps you can zoom in even closed and seen it was some water pool, hole......thing. But why is there white around it? Why only around two sides? Why is it triangle? Why is it in the middle of nowhere? Why is it so massive? Why have it when there is a ocean right next to it? WHY!?!?!?!? WHAT?!?!?!? lol. Its driving me nuts because I can't find anything about it! The most I get is I thinks its called the ""Mina triangular". And with that when I search I get about 10 results in spanish! Here it is: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/download.php?Number=483522&t=k&om=1

  4. So uhh WHAT is the origin of zombies?

been watching alot horror flicks lately, where in the hell does this concept of a virus spread by bites from undead zombies whom hunger for human flesh come from? And where does the virus come from? Like, Dawn of the Dead, never heard a word, it all jus happened. Where did George Romero get his ideas? So what happens after everyone is a zombie on the earth?

  6. Windows Vista over a network

A friend bought a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate at the weekend, only to discover you need a DVD drive to install it (stupid bugger.) I said I would put it on my PC (as an ISO) and install it through a network when I get back home. Ia m going to extract Windows Vista DVD into an ISO file and hopefully install the system on his computer using a crossover network cable. The thing is, I'm stuck at the beginning. I know how to extract the DVD, but I've not a clue as how I'm supposed to send the image accross as a network install. The computers at work did this for XP, but I wasn't there to see it go on. They set up all the computers to install XP from a main network computer (domain.) If anyone has any idea how to do this, please let me know. I return to England next week (Thursday,) and he's expecting me to be ready to set it up. Thanks a lot.

  7. It pays to be a student...

Tax returns... yeah... gotta love it... But get this! My first year as a student, and it turns out that student loans are deductible... and guess what? I'm getting more than TWICE the money I've EVER gotten before... not only that, when I pay the loans back, the INTEREST is tax deductible... who'd of thought? Maybe the country's not too far gone to save... How are YOUR tax adventures going? Just thought I'd needlessly take up bandwidth to celebrate, since I'm getting over a grand back (which is a lot considering I'm dirt poor- and I've never gotten more than a few hundred... :D ) -of course, let us not forget that the government is legally robbing us anyway... but still

I had no idea this image of "BOB" was actually a real guy. Or that he had a whole dang church built around him! I always thought it was just some cool 50's art. I've seen a 1000 t-shirts with this guy on it with the caption "Marijuana. Hey! At least it's not Crack!" Hahaha, man thats funny stuff.

  12. The Hoax Game

I thought about creating a "game" or hoax if you will for the purpose of studying the level of peoples abilities to believe in a lie or prove or disprove an event or theory. The only good reasons I can come up with to do this is entertainment and eductation of human nature. I thought about posting this in the games section, but seeing that it was mainly for text based games, I thought it would be better to discuss it here instead. What I am proposing is creating an ultra-believeable web site about a conspiracy that is so well done and seemless than most people would believe in it. There would be no rules on the evidence we provide. It can all be BS, so long as everything there can be verified and connected in certain ways as being true so that on the surface it looks unbelieveable but after digging into the content, one is led to believe it is all legitimate. What I was thinking is to create it as a game and promote it to other conspiracy related forums and see what happens as a group project. ...

  14. Unhappy Japanese vs. Chinese

My grandfather on my mother's side of the family is Chinese...my girfriend is Japanese...My granfather for some reason does not like Japanese people, even someone that I care about a lot. My family and her family approve of us being together...She is the only girl that doesn't judge me because of the way I look and understands the silence within me...Still my grandfather hates the Japanese... My only question here is why do the Chinese hate the Japanese?! I've discussed this with my grandfather various times and just insults her for no reason at all...He has never given me a logical explanation for hating the Japanese, only saying that he wants nothing to do with her or her family or anyone else that is Japanese...
