It integrates nicely with the forums - it will log you in based on your forums log in - and it's fully customizable.   2. Comment section for articles absolutely needed!

    The articles posted on this site do not have a place for reader comments. You really need to add a comment section for each article! I just read a goose dung article about "global warming" and went looking for a place to add my professional comment and there wasn't one. The way it stands now, the moderators place the articles and that is the end. No ability for readers to make comments. Looks exactly like the national TV news, and that is pathetic.

    An interesting aspect of other forums I have been on is that they post a graph of the number of members and the number of posts each month. I have seen my own interests and posts vary with the subject matter and with the poster originators. Thought it curious to ask if this were a feature that would be considered employed here at AO.

  10. Lightbulb Media/Videos Section! Need Help!

    http://forums.armageddononline.org/media.php? I am compiling a media/videos section to warehouse FULL LENGTH programs, such as History Channels "Mega Disaster" or "Loose Change" or "Doomsday Earth" - you get the idea. Stuff members would want to watch, and stuff that fits the site theme. Any similar programs : full length, preferably in 1 part to 3 parts or less, please post here if you have a suggestion and it will get put up. Videos can come from : DailyMotion, MegaVideo, MetaCafe, uStram, Veoh, Vimeo and Youtube. If you would like to go about simply adding them yourselves, PM me and I will setup some permissions to see what you can do. There are some requirements I would like to see fulfilled, but I assure you, it's just as easy as making a forums post. I'll just show ya quick ;) It's about this easy to add a video, copy the URL of the media source into here like so, and pick a category (new ones can be created as well):

  13. Maybe we need a Cryptozoology section?

    I'm just asking this because I posted something about a possible Wooly Mammoth. It doesn't quite fit into any of the various sub forums. I mean, it's not really politics and current events. It's not Armageddon and Disasters, it's not really science. It's definitely not Religion or Spirituality, or Conspiracy Theories, or Philosophy Ethics and Behavioral Studies. It kinda not so much fits in Paranormal but when I think of Paranormal I think of UFO's, Ghosts, and things like that. NOT a Wooly Mammoth siting.     I mentioned this in another thread, but I feel that it bears repeating. Dear Matt, The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) could potentially endanger ArmageddonOnline as we all know it. However, we can all do something to get the word out about this, so that our representatives can be contacted, and our Internet freedoms preserved. Go to this Web Site: http://americancensorship.org/moz If you scroll down, you will see a section that mentions how you can place a black censorship bar that says "Stop Censorship" over a site logo. This bar not only would increase awareness about SOPA, but clicking it would direct you to a place where you can contact representatives. With the traffic that AO receives, the use of this tool would be at least somewhat influential in the fight against SOPA and the threat of censorship.

    I can live with the lack of red rep. I can understand the whiners crying about getting red rep asking mods to remove it because they don't like other peoples opinions about them but this spreading the reputation around BS needs to go. Who really gives a shit if some two individuals want to bump up each others rep-o-meters. I can live with having to rep one person different before repping the same person again. But this BS about needing to rep three other people is ridiculous. Would you fix it pretty please?

  18. Poll Poll: AO Awards

    Some years ago, when AO was about one-eighth its current population, and when managing the site was so much simpler, we held annual awards. Nearing award-time a poll was run wherein members could vote on different categories. The big award was "Poster of the Year," though I believe we had some minor ones as well. The awards did not yield anything monetary, like free shirts or a giftcard, nothing of those sorts, but they were badges of honor. A member could display a special signature or image showing off to all visitors that he/she was Poster of the Year in 2002. I think it would be fun to try something like that again. It may sound silly, but when we did it before, the community of AO really came together. Votes and discussions brought out the best in the members, because everyone seemed excited to either be nominated or even cast a vote in favor of another. I have some categorical ideas that could be used in a new and improved awards system/ceremony, and I certainly would love to see members pull...

  19. Plea for a 'lil help...

    I'm in kind of a bad spot financially right now, and my job never came back. I have my apps in several places, but it's almost like there is a damn 'waiting' list... some of you know I worked 50+ hour weeks at the local shop - well, I never got the call back. I feel like crap even asking, but this isn't charity though - at least I'm trying to rationalize it that way (ahh humility). AO was planned to move to dedicated hosting in 36 days, but between the coming rent, insurance and elevated cost of living (I got this amazingly awesome girl living with me now, score) it's catching up super quick. But no, I'm not asking for handouts. I put in a lot of time here over the years, and have been doing a lot of new things to try and draw in more people and get stability to my life. If you can find it in your heart to throw in a few dollars, I will do everything in my power in the future to make it up to you. Call it a site donation, call it begging... I don't know. I just really don't know what to do. Things...

  20. Path thru and forum navigation

    Is it possible to get the path at the end of a thread again? Like it was before the upgrade. currently we have a path to homepage, archive, top, and a couple others. It's convenient to navigate back here instead of going to top and navigating there. Ty DW
