I saw Iron Maiden live for the Somewhere Back in Time Tour, 7 days ago and am still amped from the awesomeness of that gig. Admittedly I haven't been to a lot of gigs in my time but I've never seen so much energy on stage. The set was amazing, the music was awesome (as to be expected) and all the various theatrics involved made it an entirely epic night. I know that some of you are from some weird-ass countries where you like to listen to people bangin garbage cans together and shit, so I decided to recommend an album that everybody should listen to. The band is "I Mother Earth", hopefully some of you have heard of them. Their Debut album (titled "Dig") was released in 1993, and it was pretty good. They have a unique sound to them. Their second album (Scenery and Fish) was released in 1996. I remember buying it right away and listening to it once or twice. It had a few very good songs on it, but alas, I was young and foolish so I put it away and forgot about it. Several months ago I was discussing music with a 40 year old co-worker and I was telling him how good the music was in the early '90s. I brought up this album as an example. That night I dug around my vast CD collection and made a copy of it for him. I brought the CD down to my Car when I went out and gave it a listen. The first few songs were the ones I had remembered. I just heard this new artist Clint Brown and his new album which came out yesterday called "Fall Like Rain" and it is so good to hear an artist that sings from the soul and means it. What is your favorite form of music and why. Include favortie Artists/bands. I love music so hopefully we can discuss it here. As for me I like Rock music classical and metal. My favorites bands include System of a Down Iced Eath Ozzy and metalllica. I also like some undergroungd bands such as Masterplan Nightwish and Manowar. I have over 900 songs on my comp.

Anyone here like Hans Zimmer? You've probably heard his music a thousand times and not realized it, heres his list of movies hes done: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Zimmer I think hes one of my fav movie music guys. Transformers was his recent soundtrack. I Think its one of his best. Then probably Crimson Tide, The Rock and Armageddon. He does get accused of "sounding the same" in alot of stuff which I admit sometimes its like "Wow...thats just like <insert movie>". But some movies just have great soundtracks.

WORLD TOUR 08 ANNOUNCEMENT - EDDIE GETS HIGH AND GOES GLOBAL It's about damn time. Maiden has been my favourite band since my early high school years and if there's one thing that I have to do, it's see them live. Fortunately, this will happen on February 12 2008. I've already purchased the tickets, right up in front of the stage. So yeh, I just had to share and this thread is now dedicated to all things Maiden and other tour related stuff.

Anyone around here listen to/a fan of Nightwish? If you've been following the band over the last few years you'll know there has recently been a change of vocalists. Many fans are upset with this change as the new vocalist has a very different style to the previous one. I'm actually surprised there's no discussion about this phenomenon. Tay Zonday, an amateur musician, posted a video of his song "Chocolate Rain" on YouTube in the recent months and it has had widespread attention from nearly every media source you can conjure. Since his video release, Zonday has had over 3 million hits to his video and several people have made parodies and remixes since. Although there are several slang definitions for the phrase, Zonday's intent is the one mentioned above. I would like to now share with you Tay Zonday's "Chocolate Rain" and three of the funniest parodies and remixes of the song. Note: I actually like the song, but think it needs to be shortened by 2 minutes.

Hi folks. This is my first post ever on the forums. Sorry I didn't properly introduce myself on the intro board, but I sort of have a time-sensitive deadline that I need some input on. I'm putting together an Apocalypse mix CD as a gift for a friend, and I need suggestions for tracks. I stated that it's time-sensitive because I want it to open with "Five Years" by Bowie, and for those of who familiar with the 2012 prophecy (I'm guessing a good chuck of you are), will appreciate that I only have a few months to go for that song to still be valid. So if anybody has any ideas about what tracks I might want to consider, I'd really appreciate it. They don't necessarily have to be songs that are specifically about the end of the world. I have a couple of purely instrumental tracks picked out already. My logic is, that it should sound like a soundtrack to a very grim apocalyptic movie. So if any of you know of any songs or artists that evoke moods about the end of the world (however you may interpret...
