  1. Humans used fire one million years ago!

Seems a cave discovered in South Africa shows evidence that our ancesters used fire thousands of years earlier than previously thought. story here: http://news.discovery.com/human/human-ancestor-fire-120402.html

  2. Stonehenge Inspired By Sound Illusion?

Acoustic researchers theorize that the unusual layout of Stonehenge is designed to create an area of complete quiet, based on the theory that sound waves coming from opposite directions cancel each other out. Live Science has the story. Goes on further about how the stones are traditionally referred to as "piper" stones, which may also be a clue. Who knows? Maybe something to consider.

  3. Prehistoric Egypt

This coming Saturday I'll be leaving for Egypt with a study group from Stockholm's University for a week examining early climate impact and its effects on culture from the last 10,000 years. The focus of the study is a native group of people that make the transition from stone age to an advanced people, and it begins with the buried remains near the town of Badari, the finds indicate an age over 40 centuries before Christ. Examining the remains of the quite well preserved bodies, they found husks of barley, and since this does not grow wild in Egypt, this means they cultivated it and had a climate that allowed this without the use of substantial irrigation. Among the remains where also tools of advanced workmanship, they built boats, wove fine linen and carpets, even created perfumes! and had domesticated animals. They had pictograph writing that displayed their life style in detail, well beyond anything produced even in the neolithic. Pigments were diverse and the use of geometric...

  4. The Amazon rain forest is nothing more than old regrowth

This bit of information was just too good to not cover. As the forest gets cut back it is found that the land was in fact once settled and for whatever reason the population left and nature reforested it to form the Amazon rain forest. The Amazon is in fact probably no more than the result of a small 2000 years of natural regrowth.

  5. The Revelation of the Pyramids

Most epic Egypt world history connect the dots Doc I have seen in awhile. It takes you here it takes you there it draws great incidences and does not force anything down your thought hole. Your left to draw your own conclusion ... About the only thing The missed was factoring in Kunkles work proving the plumbing of the insides of the great pyramid. Other then that...fucking epic.

  6. Researcher claims evidence Mayans immigrated to Georgia

I understand this might fit better on one of the other sections of this sub-forum, but I'm just not sure which one. I am looking for another source. Anybody have more information? This is quoted from Examiner.com. Anyhow, long story short, it is believed b y the author and some other researchers/archeologists that some Mayan commoners, fleeing their Central American homeland due to natural disasters, famine, and war, eventually settled in the South Eastern U.S. and perhaps became part of the Creek Indians. It's a fascinating article and I want to learn more. Just to quote one more bit of it,

  7. Troodons, And The 6 Months Of Darkness

As the Society Of Vertebrate Paleontology wrapped-up, no background-info on the 'newest' dinosaur species-find in Alaska; Pachyrhinosaurus Perotorum (named for H. Ross Perot), had been finalized... other than it lacked the features of 'Arctic lizards' like Troodons. -Gigantic stereoscopic eyes. Troodons were essentially raptors. In Southern climes, there's no need for predators to evolve large brains. But in the land of the Midnight Sun, where darkness reigns supreme for half-the-year, brains became large optical processing 'studios', which probably disseminated ultraviolet-light as well. When a brain becomes 'large enough', it naturally begins developing support-regions and secondary-systems, etc. -Becoming human-like, reinforcing the notion that intelligence is nothing more than a food-gathering 'tool'. -Meaning their eggs became more complicated. Hence; a greater nutritional gourmet item for other predators. So they developed the habit of 'sitting' on the eggs for extended periods of...

  8. Discovery of Hydraulic Cement (4400YA)

It has been known for millennia that the mixture of volcanic ash or pulverized tuff (siliceous), with lime, produces hydraulic (i.e. water-resistant) cement. Stonehenge builders removing such Bluestones from the Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) rich Q and R Holes (circa 2400 BC) discovered hydraulic cement. 10. was the Ark of the Covenant radioactive

By all accounts this box was a pretty nasty piece of machinery. It killed those who touched it and left people with tumors and loss of hair. To us that is clearly caused by acute severe radiation poisoning. I was curious if anyone else thought that it was possible that the ark was a radioactive weapon and some sort of energy source that the Israelite were ordered to carry around the desert.

  11. Ancient Nuclear Warfare?

I just uh, digitally found a book, on this. Interesting that they found sheets of fused glass. Not formed by lightning as that causes very specific web like features in sand. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ancientatomicwar/esp_ancient_atomic_04.htm#analisys of libyan http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ancientatomicwar/esp_ancient_atomic_07.htm And of course we all know the story from India ten times the length of the Illiad that covers an ancient alien nuclear war on Earth. I mean wow. What explanation for the sheets of glass? Meteor? No craters found. Lightning? As said it forms patterns not flat sheets. Any one else ever read/heard/saw any thing about this?

  12. Smile Stan Gooch & the Neanderthal Legacy

Stan Gooch & the Neanderthal Legacy By Oana R. Ghiocel, M.A. & Robert M. Schoch, Ph.D. On the 13th of September 2010, in a Swansea, South Wales hospital, an embittered and reclusive man, hailed as a genius by some, yet marginalised by many mainstream scientists and academics, passed away at the age of seventy-eight.1 In his later years Stan Gooch lived “virtually destitute” in “a rented caravan in a nearly abandoned Welsh trailer park – with neither telephone nor computer, his correspondence inked on the backs of galley proofs, and scarce personal contact – wholly lacking family, right at life’s raw edge.”2 This was the sad end for a man who made incredibly original contributions to our understanding of the origins and nature of our own humanity. Colin Wilson once wrote of Gooch, “It has seemed to me for many years that Stan Gooch is one of the most underrated writers of our time.”3 We agree with this assessment.

  13. Was Atlantis an allegory mankind’s deterioration?

I've read a theory that the story of Atlantis was written as an allegory for human ignorance and without enlightenment, man falls into chaos, just as Atlantis sunk when the kings became greedy and corrupt. The theory also states that Plato was initiated into a "Mystery School" in the Pyramid of Egypt. Apparently these mystery schools were like ancient versions of the Freemasons. Any thoughts on this? 14. Question Alternative Theory death of the dinosaurs

It has long been accepted that water to seed the creation of life on earth came from space in the form of glacial asteriod strikes. My problem with the asteroid theory causing the demise of the dinosaurs starts with Panangaea. A planet two thirds water with all the land lumped together seems unlikely scientifically. What if as well as the meteor strike in Yukatan the earth also was once again struck by glacial meteors but on a gigantic scale ? This would increase the size of the oceans, pressure from which could start the movement of the plates, and continental drift. If this scenario was true and large enough, or over a long enough period such an event would also increase earths gravity making it impossible for giant land dinosaurs to sutain there own gravitational weight. The Blue whale is the largest mammal that has ever lived but its body is supported by water. Would welcome your thoughts.

  15. DNA from Pre-Clovis Human Coprolites in Paisley Caves, Oregon

A friend asked me if I knew anything about recent archeological findings here- I hadn't, until this morning. Now I am thinking of trekking out that way in a few weeks out of curiosity and maybe to pick up some "vibes". I do know of ancient midden heaps being found down in the Bandon area all of the time, some garnering attention because they are apparently much older than they should be. But back to the Paisley Caves- sharing my web-tracks in case any of you guys have any comments or other info to share. About.com:

  16. Hi, ask me questions about The Garden of Eden

Hello there! How this fits with Armageddon, i'll let you judge, but my name's Paul and I'm on an important mission to show and share with the world the location of real Garden of Eden and central site of the Agricultural (Neolithic) Revolution. I led the field walk there in November 2009 and saw the damage being inflicted and the urgent need for protection by getting World Heritage Site status, requiring public support and official investigation. This location of the site was comprehensively mapped out by Christian O'Brien in his 1985 book, "The Genius of The Few" where he identified it through descriptions given in the earliest Nippur Tablets (The Barton Cylinder, etc), Atrahasis and The Book of Enoch, along with other mentions in the Bible, The Book of Jubilees, The Koran etc. The Sumerians were first recorded to have written about this site and called it "Kharsag". Eden was located on Google Earth by Edmund Marriage, Director of The Patrick Foundation's Golden Age Project in 2006. He...

  17. Fly Air-Nazca

It's flat. It's decorated with Earth-creatures, mostly. And straight lines. The 'undecorated' sections are still artificially flat. Sections of mountains were pulverized to insure a general flatness. No prehistoric creatures are depicted. The lines don't conform to electromagnetic lines-of-force. The depictions can only be discerned from a great height. The assumption is that 'spacecraft' would hover, utilizing a tripod.

  18. Just how old is humanity

Hello, before posting any links or scientific data - I'd like to get a couple views on how old some people think humanity is, was, or could be? Does anyone think that humans may have been around for millions of years? Imagine if this were true and we, at this stage in civilization think we are the pinnacle of what humans have ever been.. First my opinion and after some input I'll post links that I think are viable to this question. I believe mankind has been around for millions of years. Yes millions, the earth recycles itself via earthquake, tsunami, and various other earth changing events to include non earthly events, with few survivors. Some of these survivors retain knowledge and "try" to rebuild and this scenario is were we get some of the ancient artifacts that are found throughout the world. What if ancient civilizations were based on these survivors and there were no brickmasons, no mechanics, no artist or mathematicians, no doctors... or better yet a few of each located in random areas...

  19. I am the Ginger Beard Man

Okay, so as a couple of you know, I have a strain of ginger-vitus. When I grow out my beard, there are sprinkles of red in it. Thankfully I have an immunity, lest I be full blown Ginger. I am like Eric Cartman, in that respect. He would call me a Day Walker... Of course, I kid, I kid. Don't be angry with me, redheads. But my question is, what does red in your hair, whether full blown red hair or just sprinkles in the beard, say about your genealogy? Your ancestry? I know there are a couple of people fairly knowledgeable about the subject, so please enlighten me.

  20. The first flower: 124 mya

In the last months of my career as a full-time teacher, the last months of my part-time and casual teaching as well as into the early years of my full retirement from virtually all volunteer work,1 news was reported of the discovery in northeast China of the earliest flowering plants more than 124 MYA. The print and electronic media, first in scholarly journals and the popular press and then on TV,2 told us about what they called the first flower among the world’s flowering plants. Flowering plants are the dominant vegetation on the planet and they include: flowers, trees and many life sustaining crops. The field of study in which this knowledge, this specialized expertise, can be found is called palaeobotany and palaeobotany is a child, one of the multitude of children, of the Enlightenment. Its founding father was Gasper Maria von Sternberg(1761-1838).3 -Ron Price with thanks to 2the journal Science in 27 November 1998; the National Geographic News, 3 May 2002 and SBS TV, 8:30-9:30 p.m. 17 February...
