$14 divxcrawler.com scam

Sorry but i don't know what part of the site to post this one in but it's a warning that has effect many internet users.

Don't be scamed as once you pay the $14 you find the members area at http://www.amgserver.com is just a frameset that wraps TorrentSpy.com and mininova.com and both of these are free and the few FTP links that they have don't work and link to private IP addresses.

avoid anything from IP address 70.85.12.34 as it looks like a few other scams are running from this box.

give it a try for yourselves by googling DivxCrawler where you will find user names and passwords so you can access the server for free.

also look out for the payment agent eshop5.com that must know this scam is going on and yet continue to take payment for scam sites.

I've tried BitTorrents and newgroups for getting files but none seem very good so does anyone know of a better service like a massive FTP server or somehing like that.

I'm guessing you are looking for movies?

Alluc.org is quite good, for streaming TV progs and movies. There are loads of other similar sites. Try googling 'watch free movies' and similar, or the name of the movie and 'watch free'. Soon enough you'll build an arsenal of sites you can bookmark.

Try XDCCing.com... it uses IRC though, but it's great for downloading pretty much anything.

You can get any movie you want, though, if you look in the right place for the torrent... Have you even tried The Pirate Bay? They have pretty much everything.

Also, by saying that "none seem very good" do you mean that the movie quality is not good or the download speed is not good? Because you have to optimize your BitTorrent client before you can get good speeds.

What do you mean by optimize I use bit torrent.

you are talking to a person that happens to be a software developer and i built my own bit torrent client to try and gain an advantage over other clients, OK it did manage to achive the same speeds as other clients but that was about it so in that way i failed.

some times i have ten connections to peers that are seeding and yet only get a few bps from them and it's not my ports that are blocked or anything like that but it's the ISP limiting torrrent packets.

Many torrents become blocked as no one has all the pieces so everyone sits there with 90% or something. Also people turn the upload rate right down and seeding at 20k when the movie is 700mb is like pi$$ing in the sea.

i'm think about using images over HTTP to send files over port 80 and this will fool fire walls and the ISP's as each movie will consist or random size images that are all batched togeather to build up the original file and the checksum will be built into the name of the image. still peer to peer but pieces that are missing could be sent via email or uploaded to central server maybe.

yes you can download a steady stream of data at high speed but you try sending more than 56k for any period of time and see what happens.

maybe we need a form of electronic points to force people to do more uploading

thanks everyone else i will have a look and if anyone is interested in working on a project to rival bit torrent then i will be interested.

I agree with you i've been lifetime member but now i can't enter the website its look everytime i enter my internet browser is froze. and it show IP address 70.85.12.34. i've paid $50 before in the years 2008. before everytime i click membership with password everything is fine. now recently almost 1 month now its keep not responding. but after i click http://www.amgserver.com that you give. its working well. thank you for notice it.
