In recent times i have come to notice many countries suffering constant heat waves. As you have probably noticed by mind findings that they seem to becoming more frequent. What is this going to do for our food supplies?water as in Australia it is being reported that they may not have enough drinking water due to the droughts they have. The temperature in Memphis hit at least 100 degrees again Tuesday, the fifth consecutive day of triple-digit highs, as hot air blanketed the south-central portion of the nation. Monday's top reading in the city was 105.The National Weather Service predicts Memphis temperatures will rise beyond the 100-degree mark through Friday.Excessive heat warnings were issued for southwestern Tennessee, northern Mississippi, parts of western Arkansas and most of Missouri, where temperatures topped 100 degrees. Much of the rest of the South was under a heat advisory.Surely this cannot be normal.Washington, D.C. Resident Finds 1922 Article Showing Early Signs of Climate Change

I posted a thread a short while back indicating that it was the sun that was actually giving off more heat with the result that the earth was heating up because of it.

This idea has been toyed with for a while with links either for or against it. The only way to know for sure is to wait until more data comes in

We had a lot of rain and because of it cooler days than normal in our region, and now we are having hotter and drier days than normal..what I wouldn't give now just to have the rain back. I have one window unit ac, and it barely keeps the living/dining room area cool, so I put a sheet over the kitchen doorway, shut my back bedroom door, and only have the front bedroom door open because I am in it on my puter now, and it at least 85 degrees here in this room..meh. I better be good because when I die I definitely don't want to go where it's hot..110 today with the heat index here..yuck!

Yeah, but I remember the summer of 1980 we had over 10 days of 100+ temps with humidity. I was working out side, and thank god I was young enough to handle it, cuz I can't now.

I still say there will be these cycles.

I remember in the 80's when Florida had a major drought and heat wave and giant sinkholes were opening everywhere. If I remember correctly, one near Orland swallowed many homes and was extremely deep.

I here ya, medicvet. I spent less than 10 minutes outsides, not even doing physical activity, and had to take a shower when I went back in. It's horrible. I want the rain back too.

With heat comes madness,is it true to say the human body can only take so much heat then we start to see tempers rise.Has anyone heard anything on those lines.
England is like october at the moment with winds up to 50 mph for today, and yet last monday i think was at least 30 degrees now its down to 21,so one day you have very hot weather and the next one 60mm of rain and winds ,we have been given another warning by the coastal areas which may not be a good place to live soon.
I wonder how long the heat is going to last?guess the crops will fail again and what worries me though are these droughts that seem to be increasing, can guarantee somewhere else will have a heat wave very soon and maybe sometime in september.
Elsewhere there are severe storms china/asia again australia and recently germany. So on the one hand we have heat waves and floods daily appearing across the world,it can only get worse.Maybe this is why china is seeing severe floods due to their pollution levels, and Australia greenhouse emissions on the rise, maybe there could be a link as to why some larger countries are seeing extreme weather and then those who dont have higher co2 emissions pay the price for the rest eg Africa.

Japan the latest victim of a heatwave,TOKYO (AP) - Japan sizzled through its hottest day on record Thursday as a heat wave claimed at least 13 lives and threatened power supplies strained by a recent earthquake, authorities and media reports said.
The mercury hit 105.6 degrees in the western city of Tajimi and the central city of Kumagaya, breaking a previous national record of 105.4 degrees set in 1933, the Meteorological Agency said.

Much of the Southeast was under a heat advisory as temperatures topped 100 degrees (38 Celsius) for the 10th consecutive day in places, fueling brush fires and increasing the number of people seeking medical help. The high of 105 (40.6 Celsius) in St. Louis broke a 71-year-old record.Seems that the temps around the globe seem to be at the same levels,so is the earth really heating up?

Its August, that means its the middle of summer. It gets hot in the summer every year. Come autumn it will start to cool down. Come winter you'll complain its too cold.

Not complaining missing the point, its getting hotter than usual ,recent countries like Romania, greece, italy, the states, russia etc etc had been reporting of unusually high temperatures. Not also that but Japan have had severe storms, earthquake and now a heat wave all basically within a month or just over.So we seem to be getting some of us anyway wave afterwave of extreme weather events. Its almost to the point of week in week out.If anyone reads the links on my now post area and count the events in recent times it will tell all of this.I know its a pain link after link but thats how quick its being reported almost daily. It has been reported that it is usually cold in England for the time of year, not much of a summer as in some places been like autumn, which is probably already confusing the animals. It has got to be six months mind you since i had to switch on the central heating, normally in autumn, winter i have to wear my leather flight jacket, not this year as from time to time it has been mild and for rain where i live not much really. The temperature has now risen to 107,now if you remember last year in england, and paris i think the year before killed thousands due to the extreme heat.107 normal?Heat Wave Has Killed 37, Officials Say,complaining?no more like feeling for those affected and rising not just heat wave but aisa, north korea etc which seem to be in a grip of an unknown origin of extreme storms, heat waves floods

In August 2003, there was a heat wave that caused the death of 35,000 people. France had 14,800 deaths alone. It has happened before, and it will happen again.

Youre right it seems to be happening again it says Last summer, a heat wave killed at least 50 people in the Midwest and East. California officially reported a death toll of 143, but authorities last month acknowledged the number may have been far higher. A 1995 heat wave in Chicago was blamed for 700 deaths.Heat Wave Kills 41 in South, Midwest,NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Residents across the South and Midwest were hopeful that the weekend would bring some relief from brutal temperatures that have killed more than three dozen people and set records for power demand.Lets hope that your winter would be a normal one,but i predict its going to be colder than normal like we have seen in recent times.
