Well as you forced the issue I voted for Justus.

Although you need people like DBA to liven up a debate I do not think that saying that he is not a racist or homophobe carries any weight. There are far worse and darker traits to be found in him. At least with Justus you know what you get and the stand he represents.

I feel like I know what I get from DBA and the stand he represents. I do not sense any "underlying darkness" in him at all.
However, I definitely sense that in people who wear their hatefulness like a badge of honor.
It is important to me that people not be bigots.
Funny how the woman here who claims no religion appears to be far more loving than some of the people who do. What does that tell you?

Again, let me be clear: I don't hate either of you. Only reasons I voted for DBA is

Also, according to Aristotle people will be more friendly to people they are similar to. My political views are pretty similar to DBA's, and so by default my relationship with him will probably be more like that of a friend than mine with you (if we're all happy friends, me and DBA would have a (gay?) click, while you would be that friend that was close, but not as close... I'd love you, but I wouldn't be IN love with you...see? [forgive mindless gay humor... couldn't resist...]).

The bottom line is this: Those who are closer in views to DBA will likely vote for him, whereas those who are closer in views to you will vote for you.

What that implies, I don't really know. But I don't hate either of you.

Reasons Why People Leave AO
