Right now I'm not reading anything...I guess if I had to say it would be Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, but that's only the first chapter, so not really. I just finished reading Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, that was an insanely good book.

Sort of like the Jefferson Bible? Oh man, I love the Jefferson bible...By Jose Saramago, very interesting novel, telling the story of Jesus as a normal man
On another note, I picked up Penrose's "The Road to Reality" the other day, and it's 1045 pages of pure genius. He goes over everything from calculus to twister theory, with all of the important bits inbetween (complex analysis, group theory, calculus on manifolds, gauge theories...etc.) I skipped about half of the book though and went straight for the physics part, because I'm already up to speed on the math."So, it's just me, you, and J-sexy? Dibs. I call dibs on her."--Yes, the one and only Aaron

Just finished reading 'Second Glance' by Jodi Picoult.
Covered the interesting idea of coincidences and how decisions and choices you make now, can come back to affect you later in life. Aside from heavily romantic undertones at the end, was a pretty good read. Didn't deserve the Horror genre it got categorised in though.
Now re-reading the Tawny Man series by Robin Hobb. Geez Fitz cops a raw deal sometimes.

right now I am reading "Hitler's Willing Executioners:Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust". This book delves what was so different about the German culture that brought about people willing to obey such monstrous orders.

The Confusion has been pretty much that, though there are great chapters. Opinions vary so I'll leave it up to you, but it isn't crap and it so isn't Da Vinci Code.

Due to dropping out of college a few months ago (financial/transportation issues), I still crave education. Meh. I'm gonna make an attempt to read this book I borrowed off my causin a couple of months back The Outline of History: Volume 1 by H.G. Wells.
So far I've read the introduction and along the way I decided to reread it, snag some pesky vocabulary, write it down and look up the definition. What a way to learn...sh*t works though!

Just finished Amsterdam by Ian McEwan. Strange story. Quality.
Before that, The Sunborn by Gregory Benford. Good quality hard SF.
Started Scarecrow by Matthew Reilly. No real effort put into the writing. Lee Child is far better.
For thrillers I can recommend: Resurrection Day by Glenn Meade (not to be confused with Resurrection Day by Brendan DuBois; I can't comment on that one as I haven't read it yet). Lee Child's Persuader is also very good.
For literary stuff try Ulverton by Adam Thorpe. Corking.
Addition:
I've completed Ressurection Day by Brendan DuBois. Not bad at all, but sags a bit in the middle. It has the sort of theme visitors to this site might be interested in: A war-ravaged USA; a belligerent Britain. On that basis, I can recommend it.Last edited by salvador; Jan 5th, 2006 at 9:06 AM. I'm currently reading The Brothers Karamazov, by Dostoyevsky. One of the best books I've ever read, almost as good, maybe even better than The Devils.
Oh, and more professionally, I'm also reading Insight by Lonergan. Again.
