Islam is slowly but surely taking over Europe. Britain is in it's death grip. It's spreading like wildfire throughout the western world. Even in the US, Muslims are successfully demanding specific accommodations be made in regard to their religion. This is only the beginning.

Christianity, on the other hand, is fragmented into several denominations that are all too willing to fight one another to press their own dogma. And most destructive of all, Christianity's main focus isn't God, Jesus or spirituality, it's money. The church with the most money wins. But in the long run I believe that Christianity will loose out to Islam because Islam is a belief system rather than a business system. It's focus is spiritual mind control rather than money. This is a battle Christianity cannot possibly win. I don't see the church leaders waking up so I see no way to avoid the coming of the second dark ages. I suspect they will last far longer than the first.

Today's Christianity has set the stage for hundreds of years of misery, suffering and ignorance. Humanity may never recover.

Why are you blaming the Christians, It was the anti christian people that insisted that their doctrine be adulterated so as to make it more tolerant. With out the input of the Holy Spirit it cannot stand and now it has moved so far from God it has become powerless.

But at least you are now starting to understand the nature of the conflict of the ages. The west rejected Christ and now will fall prey to Islam. But Islam will not prevail everywhere. Christianity will still survive where you guys have not been able to pull the rug out from under it.

Humanity is the failure not christianity. Humanity has done unspeakable things in the name of the christian god and humanity has villified christians for the acts of a few.

It's human nature to want to place blame on someone or something. Every culture and belief system has done this, in fact I would feel comfortable in saying every individual has done this.

It's very important to make a distinction between 'christianity' and SCRIPTURES. (whether you think scriptures are any use or not). The two differ (actually, that's an understatement).

The amount of Cristian followers wouldn't change. They just have to learn to live with the fact that they need to walk pasts someone else's temple while walking to theirs.

And offcource the others are going to demand temples of their own.
And why shouldn't they be allowed a place on their own if enough people ask for it?

If the state pays for churches, they should pay for synagogues, mosques and temples as well.
Or even better, not pay at all and finally start ignoring all these religious groups demanding to do this or that for them.
After all, its not up to the government to control what their population believes in.

So if you believe Malachy, are you ready for the rapture in 2020? If he's right, this pope will die this year, in 2008. Personally, I don't buy it, but it is interesting.

Malachy's prophesy is, IMO, just like the Nostradamus prophesies... vague and up for interpretation. Malachy did not foresee the names of the future popes, but rather a distinguishing trait, or an allusion to a country, coat of arms, or insignia. In many cases, the traits appeared after the were elected pope. The Vatican is just too rich and way too powerful right now to be taken down.

I agree with your post, but I'm not talking about raising an army, I'm talking about bribing presidents and prime ministers. I'm not all that familiar with the politics between Europe and the Vatican, but I don't see the Vatican falling anytime soon.

How do we define what real Christianity is?

Do we put it down to modern day expressions of it?

Anyone interested enough, wuld rightly judge it by its foundational statements. That would seem to be the fair thing to do. ..I mean anyone can say they are this or that, but i prefer to watch the movie myself, or read the book, before i cast a judgement without seeing the main attraction.... and going by other peoples impressions of it.
The best way to attack anything is to go for the foundations right?
Jesus Christ statements then are the foundation to this origanal organisation.

Try attacking the actual teachings of Jesus if you hate the idea of Christianity so much, not the history of so called heralders of the message.
If your familiar with what has actully been said in the NT, you would know that the movement would change its stripes............and i am here to tell you that it has changed its stripes.

I do believe christainity will survive, but there really needs to be a union of understanding amongst them all. Less picking on how one worships is in order. "I am right, or he is right or she it right" None are probally fully right. But until people stop picking on others( I am not referring in here, I mean in general) it is doomed to not be so prominent.

Will Christianity survive? That's a good question. I've been a believer in God for most of my life and I'm trying to live the Christian life, even though I'm not perfect. However, I've been jaded by the churches. Not only there's many different kinds of them like catholic, baptist, lutheran, ect ect ect but there's money involved too. In some churches, they make you believe that you have to pay to get to heaven when all you need is repentance, faith, and trust in god. Not to mention, I definitely don't agree with the whole virgin mary thing. if you want things answered, you must go to God himself and trust him. I hate to say it, but the churches are corrupted these days and i don't know which ones to trust anymore. and it's pretty sad. And yes, Islam, Muslims, scientology and pegans are taking over.

Then biblically speaking, when the tribulation comes to a close, Christ will come down from heaven and steal his children away from Earth like a thief in the night. Once his believers are taken, Christianity will fade and the planet will fall into a new world order where everyone is required to worship the beast- a.k.a the antichrist.

with the biblical facts and earth statistics, my grim response is no in an earthly matter of speaking. People are free to choose between God or another lifestyle, but it's kinda sad that christianity is disappearing... but after armageddon ends, it will return.

If we examine the rise and fall of cultures and civilizations then the answer has to be no.

If we examine the Word of God, the answer is the same.

The Bible thus speaks clearly of the demise of the group known as Christianity in favor of a new name to be given by Christ at His return.

Yeah, that one's pretty much solid, as far as the various scriptures, including the Protestant New Testiment. Although there was the rise of the "prosperity preachers."

Seems there's always a new fad in Christianity every generation or two, and each one seems to think it is the closet to the faith Christ intended to found.
